1990 Tyson VS Journeyman Bummy Douglas = SLOWNESS like a THREE-TOED SLOTH on VALIUM for Rounds 1,2,3,4,5,6 And 7, half of Round 8, And Round 9/10. :tired 1996 Tyson VS ATG WARRIOR Holyfield = FAST-AS-**** And XPLOSIVE LIKE OPEN-CAST GELIGNITE for teh first 5 Rounds And for most of Round 10. AND Tyson WANTED TO CONTINUE when teh ref stopped Holyfield battering his ass with combos in 1996 - BUT VS Bummy Douglas, Tinkerbell was so badly on Anal-Penetration-Street, he did not even know where teh hell he was or have any memory of being BRUTALLY KTFO seconds ago!! :nut Foreman Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooook!:rasta
Tyson was a better fighter in 1990. I dont think the 96 version could have defeated Razor Ruddock had he been in a similar type back and forth fight with him. Not only was Tyson not as good against Holyfield, but by many accounts he was in equally poor condition as he was in Tokyo and if possible had even a worse corner. Aaron Snowell at the time brought a little more to the table than Jay Bright did, but thats not saying much. Snowell was pretty green as a trainer back in 90.
SO salty, what you are saying is TYSON was in teh same phsyical-condition VS Razza Ruddock as he was VS Bummy Douglas??? :think THANKS FOR CLEARING THAT UP m8!!! :rofl:rofl:rofl
Bummy Douglas was in his 'prime' at the time, for every Tyson punch landed Douglas was throwiing 4s and 5s Holyfield was old nad hardly threw any punches, he threw mainyl quick 1-2s Tyson actually got up form the Douglas knockdown, he wanted to continue. 96 tyson finished the fight on his feet and didnt have a clue where he was I always knew you were a secret Tyson fan
Douglas was a good fighter but spent most of his career fighting at 60% - 90% of what he was capable of. Against Tyson he was 100%, and performed as a great fighter - and Tyson was only, say, 90%, still a great fighter. That's enough to swing it in Douglas favour. That's the thing people never seem to realize. The best contenders in the world are only ever a bit below even the greatest, most dominant champions. But those champs are consistently fighting at 95% or 100%, and that's a few points better than the others 100%, but only a few. It's the same in every sport.
Well Tyson with his dominance made it seem that gap was leagues apart. Douglas was a good fighter and theres a reason he was top ten in the world. The fact he made Tyson the guy who was destroying all the top ten fighters, look so ordinary is what made it such a suprising upset.
SO Azzer, in your opinion - at his "best" Tinkerbell Tyson was a totally This content is protected for 10 Rounds who was This content is protected by constant clean combos And jolting jabs every minute of every round. :ko WHAT were teh punch stats m8??? i bet Bummy Douglas landed something super-high like 75% of his 30-40 power-punches each And every Round!! :!: Not even including teh constant This content is protected Douglas dished out with his jab!! :ko And what about Tyson himself?? How many of his proper This content is protected 18 Punches Per Round This content is protected did he land on Average?? :huh Foreman Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooook!:rasta
That's the way people see it but it never really is - in any sport. If Usain Bolt slips a little bit and his nearest rival runs a new PB , Bolt's going to come second. Virtually no one beats Djokovic on the tennis court at the moment but if he slacked off mentally or physically just about anyone in the top 100 or 200 is an immediate threat to him. As you know Douglas wasn't just some guy off the street. He was a top professional. And he fought a great fight his best ever. Tyson was still great that night but not at his best. It was a huge upset but these things are bound to happen sometimes.
Yes I agree. Hate the people who use this fight to say Tyson was somehow exposed and not really that good.
It is not only his best but head and shoulders over his other fights but he discouraged Tyson when he got up off the floor and was willing to fight, Funny but Buster never fought that way before
They have no sense of persepctiive. Even on leaving the ring that night after getting his ass kicked, he was 37-1, former undisputed champion with about 10 wins or more over legitimate world contenders. The following year he beat the number 2 contender twice. He must have been quite good !
And unlike Briggs, played a major role in derailing Ruddock's career. He'll tell you as much, would Ruddock. Signing up for another 12 rounds was a mistake.
cheers m8 :blurp Stevie - do you agree with me Or them Tyson-fangirls??? They always seem to take a **** on Holyfield And try to take away his Great Accomplishments, including stopping a way better, FASTER version of Tinkerbell than Bummy Douglas did.
