Mormek is 40 years old, about 5ft 10", has fought most of his career below 190lbs, is not a big puncher and as has already been KO's by much lesser punchers than Wlad. Why on earth would any "feeling out" be necessary?
Nice payday for the classy Frenchman. Does he have a chance? Get real! Could linger awhile because he doesn't leave a lot of openings.
Assuming Wlad performs to expectations tomorrow and stays injury free; I am curious where he goes next? Will Arreola finally take K2 offer or will they they get a mandatory out of the way? Wlad should be ready to go again this summer and that is perfect timing for another big outdoor bout in a soccer stadium.
Haters are trying to set the bar higher for Wladimir than any champion in history. Now he has only "X" number of rounds to beat his opponents
Wlad pointing to the cameras telling Jean "hey, little man...I know you're not here in this spotlight often...so this is what we do next! pose and smile for the cameras! yup, this is just the normal routine before you get knocked out. Thanks for participating in the Wlad show."
I agree with you about Vlad needing to execute this dwarf fast, or else he loses credibility. In answer to your question about the entertainment value, remember: this fight is being paid for by French TV. It's the French boxing fans who want to see their hero get his "chance." They've got the money to pay for it, and that's the only reason it's taking place. Mormeck's people literally bought this fight.
There is nothing "classy" about buying controversial wins over Oquendo and Ibragimov (and that's what he did: his people and French TV pocketed the judges) to get this fight. I respect all pugs, and am happy to see Mormeck cash out with a nice final payday. But the manner in which he obtained this fight is sickening.
