Honestly, Roy Jones Jr. has been notorious for talking a good game and not delivering, as has someone we all should know well that fought him a few times Antonio Tarver. Go back to De La Hoya - Vargas, Vargas talked so much **** about De La Hoya it wasn't funny, only to get his ass beat and he was even on steroids for that fight. There's a lot of guys who talk a good game and don't deliver. We could look at one of my personal favorites who hasn't been able to deliver on his words, Shane Mosley. He declared in his fights against both Pacquiao and Mayweather that he would go out there and fight like the Shane Mosley we saw against De La Hoya in their first fight, only to shut down against Mayweather and get shut out by Pacquiao. What about Margarito? He liked to talk a big game, but in his most recent bout against Cotto he was absolutely demolished. What about Prince Naseem Hamed, boy was he a **** talker, and when he started fighting some real competition all those words became as hollow as his chin. The list goes on and on.

    Paulie motormouth malignaggi...

Then when it comes to fighting he couldn't punch his way out of a paper bag. I actually don't dislike him though.

Haye is the all time great for this though, and I actually HATE him. He's the only boxer I can say that about.

    :?

Everyone knows before Malignaggi sets foot in the ring that he doesn't have any pop. That doesn't mean he doesn't go to war with what he has. When he promises to go balls-out he usually does, for better or worse.

That's why I don't dislike him. I like characters of the sport who talk **** tongue in cheek.

Anyone mentioned Marquez yet? Didn't he say before the rubbermatch that this time he wasn't gonna leave it up to the judges....well, ultimately that's exactly what happened in those hoghly crucial championship rounds. Not hating...jus saying.

Fraudley Harrison comes to mind as well.

Another British heavyweight I really wish wasn't wearing our flag.

Your words, not mine. Personally I think he fought a very smart and calculated fight. And obviously he didn't have to knock him out, coz quite honestly, it's not in his natural mindset to. But you would think after 2 close fights and after the prefight bravado (per the thread title) he coulda/woulda/shoulda done more those last 3 rounds. But oh well, he at least got a moral victory out of it didn't he?

Froch at it again. This is why I listed Froch:

Carl Froch: "I will knock him out here, and then I'll knock him out in Canada"

He probably felt (as many observes did at the time) that he'd done plenty enough.
