This fight is really hard to tell whos going to win cause we cant guarantee if rios will come to the ring not weight drain. Too me if rios comes in the ring looking bad weight draim like his last fight badly weight drain gamboa will win by tko. Gamboa better hope thats the case cause lets behonest the real reason gamboa accept to fight rios cause rios has been struggle badly to make weight.
I would be more excited about the fight if I knew we had a healthy Rios fighting. But there is no garantee, they are talking about working with some nutritionist to be able to cut weight without the previous problems. This is their first time working with this nutritionist so there is no garantee. A healthy Rios fighting a healthy Gamboa at 135 is a great Matchup, if Rios does manage his weight properly and comes to the fight 100%. It's going to be an intense fight, but Gamboas speed and rythm fighting is going to frustrate Rios early. If BamBam can keep focused and not get discouraged he could start making it very difficult for Gamboa in the late rounds. Gamboa will have to rely on his fast feet and lateral movements. One well placed Punch from a healthy Rios can change the whole fight. I don't know what kind of sparring partners they'll be bringing in for Rios, but they better be fast because i have a feeling they are going to be in for a shock if they underestimate Gamboa's speed. As of now I'm calling it for Gamboa UD. Let's see how Rios looks during his training, if Rios struggles to make weight, Gamboa KO 9th round.
The Roberto Garcia camp has not been looking good as of lately. Cotto humiliated Margarito. Broner destroy Perez and in all honesty Nonito won UD over Vasquez but look worst than Vasquez after the fight and couldnt even stop Vasquez with the Conte vitamins. Rios didnt make weight for his Murray fight. Whats going on Garcia.
Robert Garcia: "Brandon says that his extremely focused on his fight against Gamboa. He did 10 rounds of sparring today with Xavier Montelong , Allan Benitez & Joseph Lara. He means business" .
gotta laugh at people saying Gamboa was knocked down by lesser punchers than Rios......well Rios has been outboxed and frustrated in many rounds by way slower fighters and far less skilled boxers than Gamboa.... this is unknown territory for both guys but I think Rios weight loss will kill him here, it's close to 50/50 if both are comfortable at the weight with a slight edge to Gamboa who's just all around better but if Rios has trouble at the wieght again he's gonna get stopped and that's what I expect.
Monday I'm planning to be in the restaurant where Gamboa and Rios will have a conference I will take some pictures.
