Before you guys laugh me out of the forum (again) allow me to state my case.

For starters, look how freaked he looked at the press conference after Tyson bit his leg.

Watch this interview that took place before the fight. The confidence of Lewis may have been genuine, but he comes across like "I'm really freaked but I'm playing it cool." When Jim Lampley said that Tyson wanted to break Lewis' ribs and smash his skull, Lewis smiled an awkward smile. I think he was a little worried. I can't blame him if he was, but I think there was a little fear before the fight.

So before you stone me and my beautiful ass, I just want to say that of course Lewis wasn't terrified of Tyson but I think he was secretly a little freaked.

I'm not surprised. But I think he was whimpering a little. He probably didn't tell anyone, not even his mother.

He was confident on fight night, though. That's all that mattered.

 How would you have liked him to react?

"I must warn you, noble sire, that if you do not kindly refrain from feeding upon my leg we will eventually have to engage in fisticuffs!"

I wouldn't call it afraid. He understood his opponent was a loose cannon.

    Little Mikey was afraid.

He was wary of Tyson outside the ring just like any normal human being would be at that time. Tyson was acting nuts. It doesnt mean you are scared of a man like that - you just know better than to be relaxed around them.

He was much more afraid than u imagine :
instead of turning pro at 1984 he wai(s)ted more than 4 yrs and turned pro at 1989 (!) , then he waited n additional decade prior 2 fighting Holyfield (old and shot by then) and then he somehow managed 2 even wait 4 Tua 2 pass his prime b4 fighting him , fouled blatantly against Michael Grant and only then , avoiding Corrie Sanders , Chris Byrd and a fair termed rematch with Oliver McCall , managed 2 pick d courage 2 fight a well diminished Tyson .
Of course that Lewis was afraid .

Lewis did not win the bronze medal in 1984. Not at the Olympics anyway.

Overlooking the laughable argument you present, why use the term "Afraid" if it isn't what you believe?
