Selby will do same job on him again, Jones hit him with a few jabs it's just a shame Jones had no defence....
Difficult to see past Selby but Smith seems well up for it, seems pretty sure he wasnt himself that night :think
Excuses mate, Selby was extremely good and Stephen lacks headmovement and skills. Nice right hand but he doesn't have the ability to beat Selby IMO. Lee's a class act and is a level above Jones right now.
Agree about the head movement, Smith does come straight ahead which could mean a similar result against Lee. I do think it is possible that Smith may have been less than 100% though, it may be more of a tear-up if they do it again ... I'm not sure Smith would be so keen to get back in with Selby if he thought he was on top of his game that night
Selby was clearly superior on the night, not a fan of these excuses. 'It wasn't me in there' etc. Very Kevin Mitchellish. Wouldn't mind seeing a rematch to confirm it though. Thing with Smith is his power fades. Seems to have very good power early, even troubled Simpson. But as the fight progresses he loses strength and power and becomes ragged, Selby had more poise.
Yeah the 100% stuff don't wash with me sorry but he had no idea of how to get inside, tonight he didn't have to work hard to land the finish blows i think he hurt Jones early in the round but i saw two **** jabs hit Smith and i thought 'nothing's changed'. He's still straight lined and aggressive and Selby's a tough nasty SOB who will savagely beat Smith and confirm that Smith was 100% on both nights till he met 'Taff Perro'.
I think a Selby Smith rematch would be interesting would liek to see how Smith would approach it differently. Maybe a bit of complacency in a first defence. That aside Selby can use his awkwardness and power to good effect I think it might be better for SMith if this was away from Liverpool seems to perform better.
I took my fiance to see The Lorax instead of tuning in to this card. Miss anything? (I reckon not. :yep It didn't seem like there was much competitive about this card on paper) Swifty looked sharp, then? Is he planning on getting more than a single round's experience all year, or before rematching Selby? :!:
