Arum has Mike Jones in the wings, and while J. C. Chavez Jr. may never be as good as his father. He's a decent boxer and he has his name.
Pacquiao is going to be hard to replace as would Mayweather when he retires. He may not offically be with Golden Boy but he's their main attraction.
However, Arum has people in the wings.

If he continues to have in-house fights only then the guy who beats Pacquaio will have a good chance of being a star.

Also Bob Arum is in his eighties, I know he's a money grabbing self centred ******* but I think once Pacquaio is done he'll start to take a step back from full on promoting anyway. his mission seems to be to prevent the big fight from happening one way or another.

Top Rank has too many prospects and a proven formula for making them great. THey'll be just fine when they feed Pac to the Rios/Gamboa winner.

He hates Arum right? So why not whoop Pac's ass and get it over with...

oh wait, he's looking out for his health yet his fighting another fighter not named Pac. Haha

Just like Bob had DLH, Mayweather, Cotto, Pacquiao he will bring in another one. Most people think that promoters would die off when a certain big name in their stable goes but they never do.

You're forgetting that Arum hates him too and would rather keep Pacquiao fighting guys in his stable to help promote someone else IF Pacquiao slips and loses, than risk it all against someone he hates.

Did that ever occur to you?

Guys, when Pacquiao beat Marquez, why was there talk of a fourth fight between the two? Why didn't Pacquiao and Arum just negotiate with Floyd? Then out I'd the blue I heard that Pacquiao Bradley was possible. Wasn't Bradley scared of Khan? Why is Pacquiao fighting a guy who is scared of Khan?

Bradley did not fight Khan because that might give him trouble and will definitely take him out on Pacquioa's list of opponent.. :hey

The problem is that Arum also hates Mayweather and De La Hoya and won't put a fighter of his in this case Pacquiao who can't beat Mayweather. In the end Pacquiao can override Arum, but he hasn't so far and is not likely to do so in the future.
