Montiel moves forward, bobbing and weaving. Counter right hand by Montiel, flush. Angkotta tries again. Flush jab by Montiel. Angkotta can't slip the shots as he's coming in, but keeps trying. Angkotta turns sideways and slides in behind a jab. Wild right hand thrown by Angkotta, wrapping around Montiel's neck as the Mexican ducks into a chicken wing. Right hands by Angkotta soaring high into Montiel's guard. Montiel is pinned momentarily on the ropes by jabs and rights from Angkotta, but slips out the side. Angkotta is pushing forward and throwing plenty with both hands...and landing with neither. Nice counter left hook to the body by Montiel while turning Angkotta, kicking his heels up behind him while galloping by.

Montiel jabs and then attacks the body with both hands. Angkotta is firing rights up at him and curling his back to make a smaller target coming forward, looking like Quasimodo. Montiel dances back, cheating his right side away from Angkotta. Montiel down, slip. They have the floor toweled off. Angkotta fires his way inside, missing, and they tie up. Montiel backs up and fires a right hand left hook combo, falling short as Angkotta hits the brakes. Angkotta comes forward and eats a few jabs but lands a looping left out of the southpaw stance. Big melee in the center of the ring!! Montiel landed a shoeshine to the face, of at least half a dozen punches. BIG 1-2 by Montiel!!! Angkotta down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The count gets to sies, siete...Angkotta is still sitting there, dazed...

NOCAUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Montiel walks over to check on Angkotta (seated on a stool without assistance) and gives him a kiss on the cheek. :respect

 

Not since his sophomore venture into the ring, against a guy he had no business facing at that point. Eleven years ago.

 

Angkotta has been in with some fairly hard hitters, too.
