To clarify my post (for all you Froch's fans), I think Froch can wow the crowd & judges with a high workrate but I don't believe he will outland Bute and might end up with a low connect %. That said, IBF judges can (yes, 'can') see it otherwise even though Bute will come to fight as opposed to Dirrell who didn't.
He should try to bully Bute as he's so obviously more solid, he's got a better chin and all. Froch is very awkward and throws a weird right hand, wouldn't be surprised if he found a formula to make it work against Bute and beat him on a deicision, I am leaning towards a Bute decision atm though.
I great point, I too have picked Bute by close decision or even MD, however every Froch fight we hear the Cobra's a nobody and only has a punchers chance, people sell his skills and trainer short....however I am no blind fan, realise he is up against it...but I believe Carl is PROVEN at elite level...Bute is talented...proven however...? Great post brother...:thumbsup
Froch is fighting at home in the UK . . I would be surprised if they stop the fight after Froch lands his first glancing blow (see Calslappy's KO highlight reel)
Bullying Bute hasn't really worked for most brawlers mostly because Bute's a mover and a dangerous+fast counterpuncher; but the Cobra has a jab, he must fix still Bute with the jab before even trying to outwork him; for this he must overcome Bute's head movement; if in the first 2-3 round this strategy won't work than is prety bad for him in the long term.
A high workrate is an absolute must.He really needs to make Bute work AND think if he's gonna pull this off.Defintitely needs something he hasn't brought since the Abraham fight, although I'm starting to think if he can fight the way he did in the latter stages against Kessler,he might be able to pull it off. I've stopped kidding myself that he'll be able to incorporate something new into his game. Afraid he'll need to make best of what he's got.And he MUST listen to Rob all the way through. One of Carl's flaws is that he only views the fight from his own perspective and this has led him to badly judge the way a fight's going. He has one of the most underrated trainers out there, but he needs to start listening DURING the fight and not just before it.
It's hard without foot work and without knowing to cut the ring. He will have to let himself get hit by Bute and that's not a good idea. He doesn't have the tools..He doesn't have an inside game and he's susceptible to counter lefts...He's only chance is the KO. I haven't seen Bute outworked by anyone in the ring.
I see froch eating a lot of shots early, can honestly see bute stopping froch I'm afraid, for frochs sake I hope he doesn't fold under one of his wicked body shots, was on ringside and they showed the maggee fight, froch said nobody should be getting hurt off body shots
