Nigel Benn vs Mikkel Kessler

I think too many people are thinking of the Kessler that lost to Ward and remembering the Benn that looked unlucky to Eubank and who beat McClellan.
Kessler was unwell and suffering double vision when losing to Ward and struggling with Froch. Its not the right assessment, like saying Kessler who beat Beyer against Benn who lost to Malinga and twice to Collins. It should be

Prime Kessler had fast combinations and decent footwork. Prime Benn was a fast hard punching fighter who could pressure well with a great bobbing and weaving style.

I think Kessler being the bigger stronger man starts to get to Benn further down the stretch for a tough points win in a draining fight

I'm not sure Kessler struggling with speed and athleticism would have to do with this fantasy matchup.

nigel benn was a wimp. hell prince charles could knock benn out. Mccluskey the irish wimp KO's Benn. Benn's name should have been- HAS BENN

 

I think Benn would win but this post is hilarious and so true in so many other threads.

 

This match makes me think of Benn - Watson and it could go the same way.

Saying that Benn was a calmer and better boxer at 168 and he fought Watson at 160... But that isnt necersarily an advantage vs Kessler, maybe mad dog benn would be better off. Interesting...:think

If push comes to shove I would be siding with Kessler, he is the cleaner boxer and punch holes in Benn's weak defence, he is also clever enough nt t get involved if he doesnt have to. Kessler on points is my initial reaction, a late stoppage in Nigels favour would not surprise me though.

2. Kessler and Eubank (if they met I think Kessler wins on neutral soil, but at home the smaller Eubank may Buck nick a decision)
3. Benn (not a brilliant boxer but heavy hands. If we met Calzaghe he would look more or les like Lacy did though)
