Coming from the press conference- Gamboa didnt show up. Spoke a long time with Brandon and Robert Garcia and have to confess they made a fan out of me.We talked about Bam Bam, Nonito,Pavlik, his brother Mikey and much more. Its a shame that Gamboa didn't show up, Im very upset,if they fight today i'll be rooting for Rios.He better come up with a good excuse. I took with me some friends -not really hard core boxing fans but they watch good fights.They were expecting to meet Gamboa and were very disappointed . Not good if trying to sell the fight in Miami. Got some pics in my iPhone but can't download them to ESB Richard Abril showed in the middle of the conference and was starting some **** with Brandon, ( he is #1 contender after beating Acosta). just downloaded brandon rios in miami( restaurant versailles) but it takes a few mins to be ready. its funny how i blended with the press and sat next to Rios while been interviewed- even helped a lit with translation since Rios spanish is horrible.Took a bunch of pics and videos.Then spoke long time with Garcia,about Nonito vs Rigo and about his brother Mikey.Garcia is a very polite and articulated person.I'm impressed with the way he treated everybody around him. Rios kind of crazy and funny- basically you can't understand what he says in spanish. The saloon was full but when they got tired of waiting for Gamboa we moved outdoors and kept talking. Abril stormed inside the room and was bragging for a fight but Rios didn't have a clue who was him,i told Rios while outdoors that Abril just beat Acosta and was listed as #1 contender, then he said...oh he's just feeding from my leftovers! I have brief words with cameron Dunkin( did i say his name right?) Nonito's manager and ask about Rigondeaux...he says... don't worry, its gonna happen
there was a rumor that gamboa was pulling out of the fight and they were trying to sell Rios vs Abril. hope its not true ,otherwise i'll officially become a Gamboa hater.
Team money won't help him more then Arum... arum has a Large stable of fighters he can put gamboa with and he was trying to groom as the next big thing like a Pacquiao or something.
