Ok, honestly i'm too tired to read from several pages back, hoping it wasn't mentioned yet.

But is Alex Gong a legend in the making?

a little too big for Dekkers wouldnt you say?

In addition, to further smash the myth of Dekkers, he wasnt much of a MMA fighter:deal

Thanks for the great clip Vic. Real trip down memory lane for me as I'm a big fan of both these guys but particulaly the "Deadly Kisser", as is every Muay Thai follower.

He was unlucky in this one against Orono as he was clearly dominating. His focus in every second of every round is phenomenal and to stay puerly with what he knew was working, top draw.

I was watching some Put Lorlek this morning....Certainly one of the guys with the best mobility, which is not usual to see in Muay Thai bouts......

Did he win some of the major titles ? Lumpinee , Raja ? He looks good on film....

Hey Vic liking the new avatar.....

I'm shooting blind here as I haven't seen any other Put Lorlek bouts, but I wouldn't read too much into all that movement. In the film it's grainy but he looks like a retired boxer, weak, loose and undefined with a pair of luv handles. I also think he's wary of the naturally bigger and fitter man the Jap.

It's not unusual for a retired Thai to come into the ring against a foreigner to earn a bit of a payday with the bare minimum of training or even none and survive or win on instict and craft. You see a similar dynamic alot in Thailand in bars where they have a small ring and short term foreigners who want to beat a Thai while they're in town fight smaller older unfit boxers who dance around alot to avoid too much punishment.

But maybe I'm wrong I haven't seen his other fights.

His mobility is very good here as well :

But yes...I think perhaps you have a point because I would say he was moving even more against the japanese fighter....

Gret vid of him in what looks like possibly his hey day. You're right, unusual amount of movement and an odd style for a Thai. It's all so loose a technically appalling, but brilliant. Kind of like a Naz Hamed in the Muay Thai world, everything launched seemily off balance and from very unpredicatble angles but a total handful.

    I'm really enjoying this thread.:D

Vic, you've just made my day.

Boxers form the south interest me as you tend to get less of them and also I have very close ties in the South and in particular Trang where my wife and son are from and now it seems a boxing great .....Lorlek.

    Thanks:good
