Ali puts his body behind that, and follows through, he punches through Miteff.
It doesn't look similar to me.


Wasn't "anchor punch" just something Stepin Fetchitt came up with ? Ali had never heard of the anchor punch until a day or so AFTER the fight. In the post-fight interview he didn't know what to say, tried to say left hook first, then saw the replay.

 

I think the look of anger and disgust from Ali when Liston goes down says a lot about the punch he landed on Sonny !
