The more down to earth Froch fans are not as confident as you are. Hoping to see you on here on May 27th. :smoke
Butes win over Magee was far better than his wins over Berrio and Miranda, maybe even better than his win over an old Johnson.
That is a delusional list. For one, why Ward's win over Bika would be better than Bute's one? Bute's performance over Bika was better than Ward's. Bute had problems with Bika in the first rounds of the fight but then he completely outboxed Bika. Also, Bute was wearing the biggest gloves to protect his hand from a previous injury. Still, he hurt Bika with those pillows. Ward beat Bika clearly but didn't solve him. He had trouble with Sakio until the end of the fight, making me laugh about Ward's supposedly great adaptability. Also, the version who fought Bute was an active one. When he faced Ward, bika was inactive for several years. I also agree with Irishny that Magee is a far better win that you think. You put Ward's win over Green before both Bute's and Ward's wins against Miranda. That is a **** eveluation. Allan Green shouldn't even be on the bottom of this list. He had problems to win against Sébastien Demers recently and lost against Miranda. Finally, I don't agree with your evaluation of Ward's win against Abraham. Abraham is not a good SMW win. Ward has the 2 best wins but after that, Bute has many many better wins than him.
Exactly. I was gonna wrote the same thing but you covered it up fore me. Especially rating Green over titlist Berrio seems downright insane, sorry to say. On what basis? Name, I suspect? And Magee would easily chop down Green. Green has power but Magee has a very solid jaw. Miranda and Andrade shoudl also be higher than Green, no matter how close Bute was to losing Andrade the first time. Bika should probably rate higher than AA for both Bute and Ward since AA is so unproven at the weight. He beat Taylor and Miranda, yes, but these were smaller fighters themselves. Taylor gave Froch enourmous problems, so you might still say he's good. It's at least up for debate. Bika would beat AA, I feel, but that's speculation. What, in my view, is NOT up for speculation is that Bute's win oer Bika is better than Ward's. Beat him before, beat him when he was more active, beat him better... Nonito Smoak, nice to write those lists as it gives perspective and overview but we don't seem to agree much on them. If Bute beats Froch more convincingly than Ward, the number one position is up for debate. I'd probably still have Ward higher since he beat Kessler so decisively. Froch has recently lost in a grueling fight - Ward was first and that ranks a bit higher for me - and we'll see how that affects him psychologically. My suspicions is that he will be more amped up in front of his home crowd. This could make him over-aggressive and a target for Bute's counters. There is, however, also the risk the he freezes and thinks too much like against Dirrell. We will see... But Bute has the greater depth which is not something to laugh about. He has Tatesvosyan (spelling?) too, who is (was) decent.
Are you serios with the ward fight over bika being better that butes over bika? If so, you know boxing like my grandma.
I'll probably put Ward number 1 even if Bute would destroy Froch because of the Kessler but... if Ward doesn't face Bute in a relatively short period of time, I won't keep him the spot forever. Anyway, Bute has to win first. That's not done yet.
You are dreaming sooooo much. :yep Rely on me to bump this thread the day after the fight in which Carl will prevail. :hey:thumbsup
