I have a worry that Mayweather Promotions will become one of the top 2/3 promotional companies over the next 10 years.

My worry is, that floyd will put Arum and Goldenboy to shame with his ability to Market fighters and create Superbowl type superfights between Overmatched opponents and Overhyped contenders.

We thought we had it bad now with Arum and Goldenboy.
But when floyd is one of the main men in charge of boxing, the amount of big fights we will miss out on will be huge.

Even with Oscar, you can tell he loves the sport and has a genuine interest in creating fights that the fans want to see.

With Floyd it will be all about the money.

Bump this thread in 10 years time. Mayweather will be the head of one of the main promotion companies in Boxing. And it will be one of the worst things to ever happen to Boxing.

Mayweather Promotions needs to become an actual promotional outfit to do any of that.

**** out of here with your bull****. You have no evidence to suggest anything of the sort. Mayweather was pushing his own fighter to fight the likes of Amir ****ing Khan, yeah he really trying to cherrypick mismatch fights :rofl

it will only take a few big signings to get the ball rolling. Someone like Gamboa. then he's on his way.

It will begin with a good relationship with goldenboy mixed with Floyds knowledge on how to make money and create a personality in boxing.

Then once there established enough, he will break off, and becoe impossible to negotiate with.

    That's my prediction folks.

Its a compliment to him in a way.

Mayweather and his team are winners, in and out of the ring.

And once Mayweather focuses full time on the Promotional company it will become massive.

He also has characteristics that will make for a great promoter from the fighters he's representings point of view. He can sell a fight, he gets a lot of exposure. And his team must be the best negotiators in the business.

Gbp would be fools to allow floyd to become as powerfull, once pac is gone their marketshare increases big time, why create a competitor?

Exactly this same thing was said about GBP when they started out.

Sure, they haven't always done things exactly the way fans would have liked and maintain a high approval rating - but neither did Top Rank, or DiBella, or Goosen, or Don King, or anybody.

GBP hasn't really been demonstrably worse than any of the big players that preceded them. Neither will MP if they get that big.

That would be bad, its better to have more promoters but that they work together rather than be selfish.

    Did they?

With Oscar, I get the feeling he cares about the sport, and the fans, and actually wants to make exciting match ups.

I get the impression with floyd it would be completely 100% be about money.

Floyd is always ruining the sport in one way or another. His promotional company will reflect on him and how he does business.

He can teach his fighters how to duck other fighters very well though.
