I agree with that partially, but I reckon the main reasons were:-

- The drop down from HW to LHW.
- Over the hill.

RJJ was a fighter that relied mainly on his athleticism, and less on his boxing brain. When he showed signs of him not being in prime form, he didnt know what to do because all he relied was on his athleticism throughout his career.

I can see this because I watched RJJ's fights instead of boxrec'ing.

- Shaky chin
- Confidence shaken up by Tarver KO + Glen Johnson KO.
- Shot fighter.

When RJJ cant KO a WW Felix Trinidad, that shows he is shot. And Prince Badmu and that other brear Harding. These guys would have been slaughtered by a Pre HW RJJ, but RJJ only UD them.

 

Well Calzaghe is my favourite boxer and I don't think he's given a fair crack of the whip on here but making out that RJJ was at his peak after moving back down is ******ed. You make yourself look like an idiot.

 

Eric Harding beat Tarver..then lost to Roy Jones. Tarver's best wins before facing Jones were against well past it Montell Griffin(A guy you have already said did nothing at 175), Eric Harding( the same guy you called bog level of competition..and he had already lost to him before...and was losing before KO'ing him), and Reggie Johnson(A close win 2 years after Roy Jones had already embarrassed him)

Glen Johnson was 2-2-2 in the 2 years before he beat Roy. His two wins were against Harding and Clinton Woods...guys Roy had beaten much earlier and had dominated(even though I thought he struggled a bit early on against Harding)

His two losses. Julio Cesar Gonzalez. A guy who lost every round to Roy Jones and Derrick Harmon who Roy dominated and outclassed in route to his corner stopping the fight.

2 draws against Woods and C level Daniel Judah. I haven't seen this fight, so it'd be difficult for me to say whether it was this close or not.

In reality, all the guys Jones were facing were B- to C+ level fighters while Roy was an A+ fighter. If he fights Johnson or Tarver before facing Ruiz, he beats them 12-0 or stops them...because there is no real difference between them and the other no hopers he fought in terms of talent. Tarver caught him with a lucky punch and finished him. Johnson jumped on some scraps of a faded legend and dominated him.

 

Give me this proof that RJJ is clean now. Also what's your story RJJ's shot coz he stopped taking roids or coz he stepped up.

No one can argue with anything Calslappy because your argument is nothing but internal logic that is has no foundation. You constantly deny facts about anything related to joe and pull obscure points out of nowhere.

Your basic argument is based on a two different points:

1) you build up the record of fighters he has fought (often with some outlandish reference or fight or fighter they have fought)

2) Undermine his contemporaries by any means possible. To enhance anything Joe possible.

What you fail to take into consideration with your argument and you truly have no answer for:

1) The relevance of the WBO title at the time Joe held it. (lets not get into it because we all know it was a piece of garbage back then.

2) The Significance of the SMW division at the time, I agree that Joe has help build up the division to what it is today, but it did not really mean a damn thing back then (I was an even bigger fan back then and followed boxing closely) . . . I even think that You were the best SMW in history (until you get eclipsed by Ward or Bute soon. . . Most great fighters since its inception I consider at a different weight).

3) He has ( you have) only fought on very good fighter in his prime (Kessler).

4) Ranked fighters in the WBO @ SMW do not mean **** because both meant **** back in the day. SO all your "facts and figures" mean nothing.

5) Only you and few other ******s give a **** about Joe

6) He SLAPS . . . Always did (yeah, yeah . . . his hands). . . ugliest form of an "elite" fighter ever
