Now look at the part you didn't bold
Fact is a promoter would be stupid to invest money into promoting a event if he has no legal document with both parties agreement that they will be in the event.

Top Rank ****ed up, not Gamboa.

I guess if Top Rank started to promote a Manny - Floyd without any contracts signed and started a press conference tour , you would say Floyd was being unprofessional if he said he wasn't going to involve himself seeing that he signed no contract.

I read that as well, and that's where I got confused. Either way he knew about these conferences and should've let them know about his beef and that he wasn't showing up.... before the day of the conference.

How is he a piece of ****?

It isn't his responsibility to say anything to the promoters, it is their responsibility to make sure he is on board before they spend their money.

It is clear you are not thinking but acting on emotion, like a child or a woman. Open your eyes and objectively look at the situation.

Well he's right, he could have said something earlier. It was disrespectful to the opponent and the fans.

No he isn't right, fact is Top Rank should have never promised and started to promote something they never had. They are disrespectful for selling a lie.

No you haven't, you even confirmed that you wre emotional over it in your last post, when you went on a rant about ****ing Gamboa and ****ing Floyd Mayweather.

This has nothing to do with Mayweather, and it is all about Top Rank and their professionalism. They missed up.

Bama, he knew there was going to be starting press cons, it was their wish for them to be starting in miami. You wanting gamboa to share no blame in this is just ridiculous. There were a lot of fans who made quite the trip to come support their fighter (him) and many others who already bought tickets and made travel arrangements. That ultimate blame is on the promoters is selff evident, and also besides the point. The fact is, gamboa could and should have made a public statement when they went on sale that he hasn't agreed to the terms yet and the fight remains unsigned. That is the bottom line. . For people to be pissed that he went on like buisness is usual all up until the day of the first press con is more then understandable as well as reasonable.

What he knew is irrelevant. It isn't his job to support a promotion he hasn't agreed to. He has no obligation to do a damn thing for them, Top Rank is one of the biggest promoters in the sport. It is their job to secure the legal documents atleast guaranting the fight from both parties before selling it and going out to promote it. They didn't and they screwed up and they know it.

Yes, but it doesn't change the fact that he could have said something earlier instead of having everyone come to the press conference and also get hyped up for the fight.

Bama, you must have not understood. I didn't say support any promotion, in fqct I said the opposite. Again, ehen the fight was officially announced, and tickets went on sale, he should have made a public statement saying that top rank has moved on without him at this point and the fight remains unsigned. By him staying silent on this very public issue up until plenty of tickets have been sold, and up until the first press con that left many of his already thin fan base hanging, makes boxing fans understandably upset. Its not about his 'obligations', its about what he could and should have done.

That's cause only a complete Floyd groupie would come on here defending a fighter no showing his own fans because they get all wet in the pants at the thought of having Gamboa sign with Mayweather promotions.. Don't give me that holier-then-thou bull****. Whether or not he had a contract signed he could have said something before the press conference so that his fans wouldn't waste their time showing up to a press conference or spend their money on a fight he had no plan on participating in. I'm not defending Top Rank; Both parties were in the wrong, but what Gamboa did was inexcusable and completely unprofessional. Maybe you should take your own advise about being objective and try seeing the situation without your ***** goggles.

Why should he act to save Top Rank from failure?

Why should he help a company he is trying to get out from under, save themselves from public embarassment and loss of funds?

As for the fan base, they will get refunds so the talk of them losing money is BS.

He did nothing wrong and handled it perfectly in my opinion.

again nothign to do with Floyd, you are becoming unhinged.

Gamboa signing with Mayweather is irrelevant.

He shouldn't have said anything to a company who was so unprofessional that they would start a promotion and sell a fight without even bothering to get his signature on any documents agreeing to said fight.

There is nothing inexcusable done by him, 100% of the blame is on teh company that acted out of line and whose mismanagement caused the whole fiasco.
