Chauncy can do both. I see both and the longer the fight goes, the more he should press him and dominate him with volume.

Listen folks, all guys who can crack hit hard the first few rounds. Lets see what he has when he gets tired. As soon as he is tired out, Welliver will destroy this man inside. Chauncy will adapt to him and then dominate him when he takes him to deep waters. Golden Boy is about to lose their Golden Goose here.

Chauncy: a few weeks ago you said you would post the film of your Mensah fight (most recent). I haven't seen it online yet.

I say stick to the chest for one reason, he's never had to have a tough fight on the inside and have his lungs tested. Movement works good on him too but he can close that gap and make something happen. I'd stay with him and make him tired. It's standing in the middle trying to counter him is where guys have trouble. Ibragimov tried to box and counter. He showed the one way not to fight Mitchell.
I'd fight fire with fire and hope I can make his burn out. It'd be hell to go through, but a gameplan I think works.

If one of my guys was Boxing him, I'd have him fight close, tuck his head into Mitchell's chest, and dig to the body, when not throwing then hands up and elbows in, you don't want to take too many from this guy.

When punching to the body, there's an old latin trick that Trinidad used to do when facing an athletically superior fighter, where he'd land punches on the guys hip bones. (This borders on illegal) The effect is that it weakens the opponents legs. A heavyweight without legs, means he has no base for punching power, this should then allow you to dictate distance to get room for your own punches. I'd also recommend dipping, pivoting to your right (Right hand up in defensive posture) and shooting a hook/uppercut with your left; Mitchell can be hit like that.

Then again, I'm just an amatuer Boxer who was forced to quit, and now trains kids and posts on a forum :-(

A boxer all the same. Much respect to you and your boxing. You gave it a go and can always say you were a boxer. :thumbsup Cheers bro.

As far as your gameplan, I'd say you do know your stuff about boxing because I think it's spot on how to beat Mitchell. Getting close would not be easy with him but the rewards on the inside make it worth it.

I've not seen any of your fights before Chauncy (aware of you though) but after seeing your posts in this thread, imma fan :good

I've said it on here before that I feel Mitchell is very beatable and definitely overrated by some. You come across as a thinking fighter that actually loves the sport, I like to see that. I'll be throwing money down on you to beat Seth and if you don't, I will hunt you down and bum you.

Best of luck of luck for your future brah :thumbsup

Chauncy, you are making me a fan. It's nice to see a fighter who is grounded and doesn't get all worked up the first time he gets criticized.

That's not what I saw. In fact, for the first round and a half, Ibragimov was holding his own in the middle by boxing and countering. Not winning, but keeping the scoring close, landing some nice shots, minimizing punishment, and generally avoiding bombs.

Around the middle of round two, for some reason, Ibragimov started rough-housing with Mitchell. He rushed him. First, he landed a nice right (which may have made him overconfident), then he started leaning inside and mauling, swinging wide with right uppercuts. That's when Mitchell caught him with the devastating left hook to the temple (at about the 2:00 mark), which left Ibragimov too dazed to fight back or clinch for the remainder of the round.

What I saw in this fight makes me think Mitchell is not at his best if he has to fight in open ring. By contrast, he has an easier time connecting with bombs if guys come at him. Mitchell likes to bumrush guys, and that's easiest to do if the opponent comes at him.

What I just described to you above compliments the many rumors I have heard about Mitchell's performance against Zack Page. Supposedly Page stayed in the middle all night, never got into the danger zone, pot shotted Mitchell, and made Mitchell look like ****.

You saw something different against Ibragimov?

    Hire me :hey

Feints will get you inside, without as much damage as selling out would do. You just need to make sure that you're strong enough to stay there once you do.

Hand problems buddy, I was a typical teenage idiot; problems with the girl I was seeing and I'd hit something, a wall, a tree, etc  Add to that how much Boxing I was doing and my hands never got a chance to recover. I got to county trials and then broke my left hand on someones hip.

Can't take any major impact on either hand, could have plates inserted I guess but Boxing was and is just a hobby, so why go through surgery?

Now I just tell other people what to do :yep

Also, PostBox was the guy in my country trials, he floats like a tree and stings like a House-fly. Or something like that :huh
