Err... news flash buddy... The Storm ***** ****ed those premierships by cheating, and done so in such a dosile manner that they got found out and exposed. Those premiership medals in their wallets have been replaced with wooden spoons shoved up their arses. Even my Rabbits havent tasted wood since 2006. :yep
Incorrect sir. Individual awards were never stripped, only club awards. So we have a bunch of players with premiership medals and dally m awards. The genius of Knee Jerk Gallop. Put your tin foil hats on. In my opinion News knew about the celery cap indiscretions but turned the other way. When the independant commission was setup and News decided to sell the club, News had to come clean. If they sold the club with all the skeletons in the cupboard, they would be liable. Thats the reason why the punishment was excessive. They made the punishment excessive to deflect any suspicion on New itself. This is also the reason Waldron never got into any trouble dispite all the chest beating by News, calling him a rat and so on. News itself is infested by Rats.
according to you & your demented cronies well that does it for me, must be a done deal, mensa incorporated has made a statement, i know when i'm beaten :roll:atsch
They may be infested with rats, but they were the only thing keeping the Storm afloat year after year. Tbh, when the salary cap scandal came out, I thought it would have been a great opportunity for News to cut their losses and ditch the Storm right there and then. The Melbourne plan was supposed to work out the same way the Bronco's plan did, or even better, but there hasnt really been any progress in locals embracing the game in Melbourne, and without News' money, the club would have folded years ago. It'll be interesting to see how clubs go under the new IC.
They may have individual awards, but when the club was stripped of their titles so were the players, for all i know they still might have the medals & rings & such forth but they mean nothing, they are invalid as far as the league world is concerned, what personal pleasure they get from bits of metal that arent valid is entirely up to them & their imaginations Things must be tough if they have a cap on how much "celery" they can consume I dont think News actually sold the club, it was just handed back to the NRL to supposedly stand on its own two feet, however there may have been some kind of clause that the NRL couldnt let them go broke & would have to prop them up to some degree, but i'm not sure
Its called celery cap because its a joke of a cap. News keeping the Storm afloat is purely a business decision. No charity is involved. The few million that News pumps into the storm each year is more than made up via the extra cable subscriptions. Storm games are consistently the highest rating time slots on cable. Its 15 years since the Storm got established in Melbourne and we get to see Storm games at 12.30am in the morning. It is to drive up cable subs. Knee Jerk Gallop does not want to enforce the NRL tv contract with News because he is a former News lawyer and News appointed him in the first place. Talk about conflict of interest.
the games you see at 12.30 in the morning wouldnt be on fox?? the games i assume that are on at that time is through channel nine, which has nothing to do with news ltd I suppose with such limited appeal for Rugby League in Melbourne it makes sense not to air them in prime time in a market that has little time for them
