This is what I have so far, anythoughts? My first thought is that any claims of wilde being a lock should be shotdown; I'm not saying he isn't the goat at the weight (I personally have him there) but I'm saying it needs to be able to be justified because "we don't know much about his opposition" doesn't really justify goat status. The last 2 years of his title reign mean diddley squat as well since he was inactive. As a sidenote; One thing I've noticed is that in EVERY division from WW down, Jimmy Mclarnin has reared his atg head and defeated a top opponent, not quite sure he gets his dues but that's because ?I don't really ask people how they rate him
I can help out. When Ohba dies, Borkhorsor, having already defeated Betulio Gonzalez far more emphatically than the Jap', easily outboxes Salavarria to become no.1. Then moves up to Bantam. Then it's Canto until Park, then Oguma, then Avelar, Cardona....Castillo? Mercedes, Magri, Cerdeno, Kobayashi, Bernal, Chitalada. Its all down to how you rate Lacier as the 'lineal' crown is changing hands, going by how you go with things, I will definitely see you discarding 'lineage' by the time Cardona starches Avelar in one. Off the top of my head that's it (depending of your card in the 2nd Sot-Korean I can't remember fight) until Chang gets robbed against Sot then Kittikasem beats both. Not sure on Pone winning the 2nd fight with Harada from what I've seen of the bout. Ebihara starches Kingpetch. Then it's down to how you see their rematch. Ebihata felt he lost. The footage shows him to be doing the better work IMO. When you get to Burruni-Accavallo will be interesting. I go Burruni-McGowan-Chionoi. I'm stoned and all over the place, sorry for this post it's nonsensical and stream of consciousness, probably all wrong.
What are your thoughts flea (or anyone else out there)? unsure about the inlcusion of marc johnson and the exlcusion of eric morel but as a starting point i'm happy with the majority of it because around the early 80's the lineal title just became a journeyman free for all so i'm happy with it being usurped.
Too much for me to take in I'm afraid though I pretty much get to the same conclusion without moving around even when the reigning man hasn't lost. ALso, it wasn't a 'journeyman free for all'. Cerdeno was a journeyman, the rest all class in one way or another, despite what their records might say.
I'll have to take your word on that for now :good Anyways part 1 of my mass revaluation is completed now; I have a preliminary timeline for every division. Next I need to watch peak performances and key fights for each man in my prelim timelines then compile a meaningful resume for each man in my timelines. Hopefully within a year i'll have a top 400 or so that I can justify.
Amazing that Pacquiao was once the top flyweight, and later the top welterweight. A lot of his "world titles" have been junk, but the fact that he was the best at fly and later at welter is a truly remarkable feat.
