I don't think Jeffries was too far off from most of the white Americans at the time but remember this was a country of slavery and only a few progressive minds or religious could see all men as equals. On the other side of things I have spoken to people who lived in South Africa before and after Nelson Mandela and they claim now white people are being slaughtered, white girls raped and killed all for there color. I always feel for the minority because we are all men under God but when the minority becomes the majority How does he act? Usually fighters or athletes are the ones who have respect as men for all color and historically boxing was a place that the Jews,Italians,Blacks,Spanish,Irish,German,Polish,Etc. found there respect.

unfortunately change does not always happen overnight

Armstrong looks a bit like PBF there. He looks like he's just about to hit Jeffries with a straight right then roll under whatever JJ tries to counter with

I can smell a rube from a century away.

Johnson came from extremely humble beginnings and still became reasonably fascinating.

    Good post.

And still acted just like Jeff in drawing the colour line against his own people.

Funny, how some people are so far up their own *rses that they think they can judge other people, not even mentioning people they don“t know, people from different times. But hey, each to their own. :thumbsup
