socal has an abundance of fighters from welterweight on down...but it's harder to find good middleweights who aren't named sergio martinez...especially in oxnard. take him down the 101 about an hour to hollywood. there are plenty of guys who can hang with him at the wildcard. if he's up for a longer drive....take him to broadway boxing gym. i'm sure there are plenty there that can hang as well.

Yeah, he wasn't close to being at his best. Too bad. I hope he works himself into a position to win the crown again.

Woops, my mistake, I did mean Jacobs.

And no, that's not the same argument. The cut was legit, but Pavlik was clearly gassed and getting tagged (thus the cut, you don't get cut too often with a tight defense). Sergio took the first 3-4, then Pavlik came roaring back and at least got it even, then Sergio took over again.

Alphonso Lopez.. I was asked a question.

    Did Kelly Pavlik ruin him??

After I thought about it. Yes, In a way Pavlik did ruin him. McKart, Miranda, Taylor and now Lopez...

Lopez Came into the fight with a great ****ing gameplan! Moved and threw Flurry's! Too Bad Pavlik has under-rated defense because he blocked/deflected 3-4 out of every 5-6 punch combo thrown. Not Too mention a 13 month layoff.

It was the biggest fight of Lopez's life and if he won, you wouldnt have seen him in with a Dyla Davis or some cab driver who just beat him. He would have probably been fed to a Top 8 SMW.

Pavlik ruined any chance Lopez had of getting some big money fights! I would assume 40,000 that he earned against Pavlik was his biggest payday ever!

    hence... Pavlik ruined another fighter!

I dont understand why this news is such a surprise. A healthy Pav can put a beatin on any fighter thru smw. He might not win against Ward but Andre would definitly feel it for the next month. As far as sparring partners, he had the same issues when he trained in ytown. I would guess that he would have better luck with partners in cali. Good luck Kelly
