    Tripod to the head.

  2. Meldrick Taylor was up too.

Still wasn't fit to continue and was rightly stopped.

people that assume Bute will be the same fighter he was 4 years ago are going to be sorely disappointed come fight night.

Meldrick Taylor was taking a hell of a brain-bashing. I disagreed with the stoppage in that case.

Bute had just gassed - his legs had gone, he was taking flush shots but he wasn't getting battered and he wasn't in any serious danger of being hurt long-term - huge difference.

The comparison with Taylor isn't really that close. A good referee would stop the Taylor fight 10 times before stopping the Bute fight.

If Bute had been stopped by the ref, there would have been a huge outcry and the injustice would have been outrageous.

The ref should have stood out of Andrade's way more, yeah, but he was right to send Andrade back to his corner...

On the other hand, had he given Bute a standing 8-count after he was standing collapsed against the ropes before he finally went down, the clock would have run down even faster and he wouldn't even have gone down in the dying seconds...

...overall, a controversial, dramatic ending, but a fair result. And Bute did give Andrade his rematch. Anyway, it's water under the bridge and it has been discussed and argued to death. Time to move on.

Ive told him, Bute is better than you think he is having none of it.

Still thinks the Ward fight was close......

That type of stubborness and 'delusion' for want of a better word, is partly what's got him where he is, to be fair.

OK, you say it was rightly stopped, why is that? So that Taylor wouldn't get hurt worse? Would you feel the same way if the clock had run out? Cause unlike Chavez Taylor, Bute goes down with less than 10 seconds left. Can you think of one world title (or else) fight that was stopped after the clock ran out, with the loser on his feet?

froch has a good chance of winning this fight, he has proved he can mix it with the best in the division. i think froch will have to be on top form though, bute has been in good form. i would like to see froch stay a bit more compact to avoid bute's quick counters and when he lets go let go 4 or 5 punches at a time!

I reckon Bute will win via a shut out, Froch needs to try and stay on the outside and work his jab early on and finish more aggressive hoping Bute tires and catch a late KO.

he's got to wary of decent shots to the body, keep it tight early on, he can jab really well, bring the right hand in off that shot, look to apply steady pressure as the fights goes on, make bute work but dont come charging in at him, cut the ring off put him under pressure with calculated shots, avoid counters, as the fight goes on, increase volume, try and throw combinations, if carl thinks because hes the best fighter bute's fought he can end it with a big single uppercut at any point he'll be disappointed

**** off you daft deluded twat...Andrade had Bute falling from one ring post to the other, completely out of it. The only reason the fight wasn't stopped is because the ref was in the bag :thumbsup

Its not a case of a long count, its whether a fighter is able to continue after 8 regardless of whether the bell has rung or not. Putting this all aside its must still be an embarrassment to the Romanian that he won the fight whilst still craddled in the refs arms.
