I certainly don't rate Ricky burns skills amongst the best like Calzaghe, Lewis etc. But i think there is a possiblity that he could become one of britains most accomplished fighters if he chooses to swoop through the divisions and grab titles when there is an opportunity.

Ricky is still improving and let be honest he is a giant of a lightweight. I see his frame carrying him all the way to welterweight. Do you think Ricky is big/ strong and a good enough boxer to achieve such a great feat?

    Thanks

If he can keep picking up garbage straps against lower level fighters, why not?

If he beats Mitchell, he should try to unify.

He's the same height as Tyson isn't he? I'd pick him to brutally end the likes of Povetkin and Chagaev.

He would stand a chance at 140lbs. It's not beyond imagination that he could beat a weak 147 lbs champion on points.

For what it's worth, I think Burns is great for the sport. His wins against Roman Martinez and Michael Katsidis, as well as Nicky Cook and Michael Gomez are good wins.

Yes, who could forget his win over Nicky Cook. One of the great underdog stories. Does anyone know if the movie rights have been sold on that one?

147 seems a stretch but the right opponent at 140...why not.

He's not a puncher anyway, he only needs his power to gain respect to be effective, don't see why he couldn't retain that ability.

    Has the frame for it.

    Isn't pressure/strength reliant especially.

Has the attributes but I must stress it depends on cherrypicking the right opponent. 147 though I can't see it...

The only person who stands a decent chance is Bryn.
