This would be a very good fight. If Jr can get in-close, I think he's got it. I don't think Lee would hold up.
How does Chavez bypass that jab to grind his face into hamburger, though? :think Just straight-ahead pressure? You don't think Lee's long strong jabs and crosses will be enough to get Chavez's respect and hold him at bay?
Chavez via UD. Pressure will always be the way you beat Andy, and Chavez has developed into good well rounded pressure fighter as of late.
Pressure is the way one guy beat Andy, on a night he didn't look so hot. A guy who later applied the same pressure only to fail miserably...
Chavez is a serious enough threat to Lee that I think it would really bring out Andy's best, and that he would break Jr down and stop him late. I'm still concerned that Jr would be able to smoother Andy, but Andy's quite used to sparring with larger guys. At any rate I thought Top Rank soundly shot this fight down?
As of last night, negotiations are ongoing. :conf Steward wants it, and has some clout in the business.
Thought Lee was already ruled out because Chavez's people still don't want him in with a southpaw and would rather take on Murray.
