i would define cherry picking as avoiding a tougher opponent to fight somebody else that pose a lesser threat.

So how would you define cherry picking?

 

I thought it's:

fighting an aging fighter below your division and making him move up after seeing how horrible he looks at that weight and seeing him look vulnerable against Diaz, Katsidis, and chris john.

then just pay the penalty rather than make weight against a guy who will be having his first fight on the division.

calslappy vs roy jones jr, made his record look good, but everyone including joe knew roy was finnished, The way he goes on about that win like it actually means anything ahha.

On another note, pac cherry picked marquez for sure, he basically admitted it by saying he underestimated him, also that sentence is more or less admitting defeat.

 

He didnt avoid anyone, some could say that he could have faced bradley, with bob arum, he did have plenty of choice, I thik the point everyone is making is that he waited it out untill marquez was older, and got embarrased by floyd at that weight, so therfore he took an easy option. So it really is a cherry pick.

That was a cherry pick gone spectacularly wrong which started with PPV status, predictions of greatness, fireworks, loud music, a long flashy entrance.

And ended with shattered glass, a thunderous 1st round KO, the main attraction being carried out by his mum and dad, 'Frank fish eyes W' with egg all over his face, Sky Sports embaressed, an entire country suffering hernias through laughter and the much hyped new Cuban trainer sacked after 1 fight :lol

That's the worst IMO. In an attempt to put 18 months worht of fights together in 4 months, JK decides to pick soft opposition. Well, Ishiida is soft opposition, but he's still world class.
