Dempsey is my favorite fighter of all time so naturally I'm a little biased. 1919 dempsey vs prime joe louis how do you see it? Personally my heart says dempsey but my brain tends to favor louis. I just couldnt bet against dempsey though so I say Dempsey by early KO

dempsey drops joe, but joe recovers fast and his accuracy over jacks wild style wins him a points decision, dropping a tired dempsey on the way.

demps is very cool for a racist whiteloving era and hes a posterboy too and could hit hard and fast, but one has to be subjective about his ability, whereas Joe Louis fought them all and won, he was just a winning machine.

I think Dempsey's freakish heavy hands would have made Joe Louis fall,it would be a very competitive fight but Dempsey was too relentless and had the better chin.Dempsey by KO in the 8th round.

But if they fought three times I thinks Louis wins at least one of them

Certainly out of three, Jack would win one,but hes outclassed on every attribute except strength to lose the other two.

The only man that louis couldn't beat is ali.

    He batters jack.

Joe Louis would beat him every time they fought IMO, although I think he would suffer knockdowns all 3 times

I just don't think Dempsey would be able to finish Louis,
I see Joe taking some punishment early, but he would start finding Dempsey through his questionable defense, and landing with his signature hard and accurate combos

It would'nt take to many of Louis's deadly shots to take effect on Jack and I'd predict a stoppage within the distance

If you hate white people so damn much, why are you posting on the internet, that was developed by caucasians ? Just asking... You sir might
pull the wool over the eyes of some posters, but not by me...
Yes Slavery was all evil, but we in America lost hundreds of thousand of lives
in the American Civil War, trying to correct the horrendous practice of slavery, lest you forget....
This is a boxing forum sir, and not a site to vent your agenda...

Louis shorter quicker punches land more accurately seeing him beating Dempsey to the punch, countering him silly, before the innevitable KO, which could be any round Louis really steps it up.

This has been done allot of times OP

I agree he batters Jack but i can pick a fair who heavies who have a 50/50 or greater chance of beating Louis.

I rate Louis as the Greatest of all Heavyweights and his position remains, however Dempsey is a tough fight for him because Jack come on early with power and speed and savage killer instinct. I would think Joe Louis prevails but in a series against Dempsey and other greats like Ali and Marciano, he may not come out on top always....with that in mind Joe Louis #1 ATG Heavyweight

Great fight where I favour Dempsey, and not just because I believe in the early route.

Most see this as Dempsey early or Louis late, but Dempsey ain't gonna miraculously gas if he does take the lead to start with. That boy had resolve! Body punches, inside game; this could be an incredible battle for a number of rounds.

I just think Dempsey was a bit tougher. His style would give Louis a kind of fight he would find uncomfortable and his talent would turn those problems into disaster.
