Ortiz was actually winning the 4th round vs Pretty Boy Floyd

I'd say Ortiz has the better chin. Their Peterson fights alone prove it. Ortiz was walking through the shots, whereas Khan was visibly hurt several times.

 

Screw that fight. Pretty much a no contest in my book and a rip-off to the fans.

 

Ortiz was in that fight. Respect from floyd for fighting him because otiz aint no joke. And i also believe Ortiz has a style to cause floyd problems.

I don't get how people saw floyd completely dominating. Watch it in mute, or watch the slow motion version that is flying around. Ortiz was losing up to the KO, but he was definetly in the fight.

You could argue Ortiz winning round 2 and I agree he had moments in 4.

Try reading the post in its entirety, and maybe you won't be as confused. His intentions were to rough Mayweather up and make it a dirty fight. That's what I meant by "using his head like he was supposed to". Not that what he was doing was legal (if that's what you're thinking). And in the lead-up to the incident, that's what he was doing - rubbing his head into Mayweather's chest and face without suffering any stern warnings for it. If he kept to that - instead doing an impersonation of E.Honda - then he wouldn't have brought the fight to halt and got caught with his hands in his pants.

 

I've never seen Mayweather miss as many consecutive punches as he did in round 4. I'm not talking about compubox, because that system is nonsense. I'm just going by what I see in the fight. He must have missed Ortiz with about six punches in a row at the start of the round. He then adjusted, and started landing like he usually does, because he saw Ortiz was ducking low, so he focused on uppercuts and hooks, which seemed to stun Ortiz. Ortiz also hit him with about four shots amidst all the flurries before the headbutt, and he also landed a surprisingly solid right hand earlier in the round, again when Floyd was against the ropes.

That being said, Floyd is just in a completely different class. We all knew that, though -- that's why they were trying to go for the 'young hungry lion' angle. I wish it hadn't ended on a suckerpunch...that was the most dramatic round yet, as both guys had their moments. It's a shame.

That fight was a waste of money and time and made boxing look bad.
But floyd was easily dominating, I dont get people saying it would have been interesting later in the fight? ortiz' face was already swolen and he would have been tko'd late.

 

mayweather was in complete control. ortiz connected with one or two significant blows but that doesnt win rounds.

 

I felt Ortiz won the 2nd and was on his way of winning the 4th. but the overall feeling was that Floyd dominated the fight

 

If you had Ortiz winning the 2nd and "on his way to winning the 4th", how could you see Floyd as dominating the fight?
