Bute has got a lot of critic, and rightfully so, for not fighting away. US-fighters like May and Ward has to travel to get some respect world wide...........If Ward went to Canada or Denmark, and May went to the Philippines, then.................................
A *****? You're ranking Butes bravery to Spartacus for fighting Froch, well guess what buddy, Ward already fought Froch and a man that beat Froch. You deluded ****ing douchebag.
I'm a Bute fan and I don't give a sh*t on the fact that Ward didn't travel. Why? Simply because there wasn't a single fight that fell off because of his reticence to travel and because he recieved no gift decison. He fought dirty with Kessler but praise him, he changed his style after he recieved criticism. All of the above is about to change because I sense the possibility of a fight not happening because he doesn't want to travel. However, I give him the benefit of doubt. As a fighter he is great in my book until proven otherwise. But as a person I got to dislike him because of his hypocrisy (humble my ass).
Ward signs up in a tournament to fight most of the best fighters in and around his weight, he enters the tourny as one of the main underdogs, and not only reaches the finals and wins, but does so impressively. Not only does his country hardly notice, but hardly more then a year later some internet ***s are calling him a *****. And people wonder why fighters care less and less about fickle ass 'fans'.
:deal Right on Kirk, and they're praising their hometown hero as some Spartacus because he's fighting Froch, whom Ward already fought in AC and beat convincingly over 12 rounds. Not only did he beat Froch, but he beat Froch successor too!
I am sick of this argument. It defies logic. How the **** is someone's merit that he entered a tournament from the underdog position? Is it that great, for example, that a guy ranked 10th in a division wants to fight the top dog of that particular division? WTF is so great that Ward decided to make a name for himself when he was virtually unknown? LE: it's not like Ward had alternatives; he had absolutely nothing to lose; his decision to sign the S6 contract can not be assimilated to a virtue.
fair point and 100% true And who's to blame for his troubles in getting noticed? Who's fault is it for people not going to his fights or even watching them? Should they be forced to do so? Is it the casual fan's fault for not liking Ward's style or finding him boring? How does that overrated BUTE do it tho? Reading this board, he sucks, has a glass chin, only fights bums, ducks everyone and yet he still gets 20 000 seats filled and the best contract at 168. Speaking of internet ***s... :hi: You haters are something else. First, Bute needs to fight Froch, then Bute needs to fight him in England, then Froch is a bum who's worthless after losing to Ward. :rofl After that, Bute ducks everyone. Bute asks Ward to fight him where ever he wants. Ward declines invoking childish reasons only 10 year old kids and idiots take for granted. Somehow, its still Bute who's at fault for the lack of fighting. You guys are the reason serious posters stopped posting. This boards are like a reunion of brain damaged kids these days.
Locations is a major part of a fight in any sports arrangement world wide. Only people who have the money to decide to fight at home every time, don't think travelling is an issue..................:think... In every Super Six fight - the home guy won. I could have seen a different outcome if the fight had been fought in the other guys country: Froch - Dirrell, Ward - Kessler (dq), Kessler - Froch, Dirrell - Abraham - and in other fights like Bute - Andrade 1, Abraham - Miranda 1, May - Cortiz.........
The fact that Ward won the S6 tournament speaks volumes about his talent. The fact that he agreed to participate in that tournament is as interesting as the fact that Kessler preffers white whine to go with a fish meal. In fact the latter is much more important when defining someone's character. Ward signing the contract means that he wanted money and recognition. ... Who doesn't?
ward not having an opponent right now is no problem for me. he boring and he should fight bute froch winner by november
Also, the guy from Canada had a chance to fight in the Super Six. He opted out!! So, him wanting to fight all of a sudden doesn't move me. 1h Andre S.O.G. Ward ‏ @andreward Reply Retweet Favorite · Open
I agree with (most of) your post. The fact is what you said bears no weight on Ward (except the dq vs Kessler). I say that if Ward would have been DQ in that fight it wouldn't have been fair regarding "who the better fighter is". I preffer it that way. He recieved a lot of criticism for that and he straightned the things in his next fights. If Ward would have continued to play that way I would have to agree with you. Also, Ward is willing to re-match so we'll see if the judge took the right decision after Kessler - Ward II happens. I also have kind of an economic principle: If I ask 1 mil $ for a rotten egg and someone buys it I am not the stupid one. If I fail to sell it then I am the stupid one. Same with boxing. If a fighter demands all his fights at home and all of his adversaries decide they are OK with then there's nothing to debate. However, it's enough for 1 fight to fall because of it and that guy must be **** all over his face by boxing fans.
The human rights ensure him being fully entitled to pick his way in life. That does not include the right to spread blattant lies. There are also some laws governing that. Plain BS. He wants to fight someone, he fights. He doesn't want the guy (for some good or bad reason), he doesn't. The only proofs are given by the matches itselves. That's it.
We still don't have a case here. 1) It is reported from a better source that Bute hasn't been invited not that he refused to participate; 2) Even if 1 is false there is no resemblance between these cases; Dirrell and Ward were those that had nothing to lose. I would like to credit Kessler with the courage but this is still debatable for me (he may have underestimated his adversaries, in which case we don't have a G at all, on the contrary ) 3) To see I am fair: most probably Bute would have refused to participate in S6 even if he was invited (I stated this before). He was absolutely nuts about rematching Andrade and his staff anticipated that the tournament won't be that important in the end. Of course, they were wrong. He didn't make a big deal out of the toruney in the begining but he reconsidered after the heat reached him. The fact that him and his staff underestimated the S6's potential doesn't speak about his heart but about bad/stupid (self)management. 4) I'll go much further and say that Bute wasn't confident enough that he can deal with that kind of torunament at that particular time and you're still left with nothing to pick on. What we know today is that he is going in Forch's yard with a belt on his shoulder and that he wants to fight Ward afterwards. What's there to blame him for? ...There was no need for Ward to be disrespectful.
Ward has fought and beaten Kessler (when he was WBA Champion and The Ring #1) and Froch (WBC Champion and The Ring #2) in the last couple of years. There are no grounds to call Ward either a ducker or cherry picker. None atsch. There is no compelling argument to be made that anyone else in the division can be ranked alongside him, let alone above him. Anyone who understands this brutual and unforgiving sport can see that he has clearly earned the right to dictate terms to anyone who wants to fight him. You may not like it but this is the reality of the situation. Regrettably for Bute fans, their hero has spent his career to date bum hunting behind closed doors and is rightly criticised and admonished for his thread bare resume. It is therefore understandable that Bute's fans are somewhat more fractious than the fans of other top fighters because impartial and objective boxing fans and critics do not hold court in order to blindly eulogise the object of their desire. One has to bear this in mind at all times when attempting to engage a Bute fanboy on any issue relating to Bute and not retaliate to their churlish behaviour. Bute himself probably understands and accepts the position he is in and in relation to where Ward sits in the division, hence his decision to fight Froch in the UK. IF Bute bests Froch away from home then not only he has put himself in a position where he legitimately merts the Ward fight, I would go further and say that he will force Ward's hand. The situation can then be re-evaluated at this point.
