It's a tough old question that one.

Hamed had excitement times ten (see the Kelley fight to start with), Hatton had heart times a million, plus a stupid amount of support (see Pac and Mayweather fights and how many fans he took to Vegas).

I reckon Hamed edges it for me. I don't like his attitude, and he got totally schooled in the MAB fight, but the excitement he brought and the stuff he did to bring smaller weight fighters to the helm was unbelievable. :good

 

Definitely Hamed for my own personal entertainment, but the amount fans and media attention (especially in the UK) that Hatton brough to the sport was great for boxing.

 

Id have both. Then have them fight in a car park.

 

Hatton was **** and working class, Hamed was working class but exciting, no contest.

 

Ricky Hatton. Britain would unite behind one fighter, something Khan is incapable of inspiring. Hatton vs Khan would be epic, and Ricky had no qualms about fighting the best, so if and or when he regained his throne as king of 140lbs, he'd have no issue with defending it against the best.

Hatton wasn't ****. Whether he was working class or not is a different issue. Bear in mind Hatton fought the p4p best in their prime, plus (and I know he might have been a little over-the-hill) he put on a masterclass against Kosta. I have no complaints with Hatton.

Hamed was ****ing brilliant, don't get me wrong, but he lost his discipline when he let his brothers deal with his boxing affairs.

Hatton only lost his discipline when he was done (2nd round Pac).

 

Hatton struggled against average guys, yes he had a career defining fight, but he was never above B- level, and people act like he is HOF material. he did NOTHING against Pac except look lost at hsi best weight. I will admit he did ok against Mayweather, but I just don't rate Hatton and you knew he was done against very good up opposition.

Hamed, you always knew he would bring excitement, and you didn't doubt his ability to win, but yes, you're right in his decline.

 

I don't agree with what you say about Ricky Hatton, aside from his outing against Pacquiao.

Hamed was great, but outclassed against Barrera. He should have stayed with Brendan Ingle. His downfall was his shift in alliance. If Hamed didn't want to train then his brothers would give him the day off, he was f**ked with that kind of (stupid) regime.

Everyone loved hamed too, even the white folks back in the day.

And hamed never ducked anyone either he beat all the top fighters in his divisions and collected every belt, he couldn't unify because each time he won a new belt his old one got stripped.

People say he ducked barerra and Morales that was bull**** they weren't in the same division.
