Lamont Peterson has more potential to improve than Amir Khan

Does anyone else agree? I feel Amir fought as well as he could where as the much more well rounded Peterson can apply an even better game plan.

 

Disagree. Peterson is defintely a more adaptable and smarter fighter compared to current Khan, but Khan was sloppy and fought a stupid fight in DC. I honestly think he underestimated what Peterson was capable of. After the Judah blowout his arrogance got the better of him.

However, that being said, I do agree that Peterson will come in with a good gameplan in the rematch, and he'll make it close again... I think we'll see an improved Khan this time around as well though. I can't wait.

Khan’s the type of student that will study just one topic for an exam, and hope it’ll turn up. Whereas Peterson will prepare for himself for different questions.

 

You know that Khan can always learn, right ? He has no inside game but that doesn't mean he will never have one. It comes down to if the clowns ego allows him to learn something new.

Agree on Peterson. He knows how to adapt and he will probably get better and better.

 

I remember way back in '08, after the Prescott loss, when everyone was saying "as soon as Khan steps up to the world stage he's getting destroyed" and "He won't last long at all at 140".

Not to sound like a Khan stan, but he's showed before that he can learn and improve after getting too arrogant and paying the price... there's no reason he can't do it again. He has the talent and ambition.

Whether or not he can do it in such a short space of time remains to be seen however.

 

Peterson is humble enough to objectively evaluate his performance and work to improve upon those things, Khan is delusional enough to think his performance was worthy of victory and has spent his time trying to convince people of it. Khan will end up squandering his talents, Peterson is going to **** him up again.

 

It's going to be another close fight it seems. Peterson did seem the tougher of the two last time and no doubt will be coming out aggressive from the opening bell this time. But Khan has shown he can learn in the past after getting brutally KO'd so I can't see why he couldn't again if he actually acknowledges that he needs to, which I'm not sure he does.

Only time will tell..

 

Yes, that's true. It's silly to suggest he can't ever learn/improve. Sure, he won't display the necessary improvements immediately next (it's just too short of time), but he has room to develop with two/three more fights.

 

Well theoretically Khan has more room to improve in general since he has more glaring holes in his game.

Actually being able to do it is another story. Khan just seems to me like he lacks the ring IQ and instincts to a lot of things together.

I expect another entertaining, competitive fight. I'm not sure what tactical adjustments will be made on each side. Maybe Peterson picking up where he left off and trying to bulldoze Khan from the get-go, and Khan will throw more uppercuts and try to learn some better holding and spoiling tactics

 

I just think he's mentality is wrong in this case. He's not (publicly atleast) admitted that he made mistakes in that fight and needs to improve certain things, he's simply played the blame game.

If he comes in and fights the same style, thinking that he'll win because the fight is in Vegas then he's in for a nasty shock.

I'd say the opposite, Peterson fought out of his skin and Khan made too many errors. Fully expect a Khan victory this time as long as he doesnt do his ridiculous human punchbag impression again.

 

most of this is very true, eventough I scored it 113-112 khan both times I've watched it, i think khan wins 115-113/116-112 in the rematch. all the yes men around him don't help- they probably tell him 115-110 scorecard is too close
