This is all just more publicity for Chisora, as his profile rises so does his earning potential

If the BBBoC wont license him there are plenty of organisations who would love to

 I wouldn't particularly like it, but it did hype the fight. I could think of far worse things to be honest. It was more Chisora mugging the fridge off than anything else.

The bite, while not as spiteful as Tyson's, was over the mark as well. But he was fined for that wasn't he? Genuinely asking.

Del Boy is a character. He is probably messed up in the head a little, but people will now watch his fights because of it. He isn't half bad either.

A massive fine and/or a year ban would have been acceptable. But this is a cop out. No time frame of the ban, and Chisora can reapply for a licence tomorrow.

In the today's world of multi-media pressure, I guess they panicked and went for the heavy stuff.

A year's ban would of been fine for me, gives him that big comeback buildup.

    He'll be back.

I think a permanent ban is perfectly fine under the circumstances. Four incidents in a weekend (slap, spit, brawl, death threat) and numerous violent threats in the months leading up to the fight.

Certainly nothing for Del to complain about. He made his choices.

I think Iron Mike did a shitload worse in his career. Rahman for implying Lewis was gay and starting a fight in a studio, Mayorga for pretty much everything, Holmes for that lag drop, Marco Barrera for the Morales presser etc.

In the grand scheme of things, was Chisora THAT much worse? I'm not so sure

Trying to point to others doesn't put Chisora's behaviour in a better context. Also, those guys were, y'know, world class.

As far as I understand (and it's a bit muddy so far) he hasn't been banned at all as such, he's had his license revoked. If he applies for a new license, they will likely reject the application, OR the board could attach terms to be fulfilled before they grant a new license, i.e. an anger management course, agreement to a probationary period, a community service project.

Maybe the Board are giving the papers some headlines so they can all shout about how he got what was coming to him, and then Chisora can quietly reapply for his license in 4-5 months, and by the time he is ready to fight again, the story should be old news and it won't garner much backlash?

Only speculating, but thats what it struck me as.

Makes sense, and stops them from getting sued for restriction of trade, etc.

I'm not saying it puts it in better context. I'm saying that it is one rule for one and one for another which isn't right. We need consistency in all walks of life. A boxer should be made an example of just because he isn't world class

Just because someone else wasn't punished is a pretty flimsy excuse. Life is not consistent, so there's no point crying about it.

Dereck made the decision to act like a thug and deserved punished for it. The Board's decision is hardly unjust under the circumstances - he made a complete spectacle of himself and if he hadn't drawn all that attention he might have gotten away with a fine.

The guy's a complete ****. Why the **** are you defending him anyway?

DFT is a good lad, very knowledgable.

I'm not defending him as such mate. I'm more criticising the Board for their complete overreaction and inconsistency. If we are taking about death threats, ban Tyson Fury for saying he would kill Chisora, if we are talking about press conference brawls, Lewis - Rahman should have been banned etc.

It's only fair mate, you must agree on that
