:| :| :| Thousands of Dollars! Of HBO's money of a fight that was never signed. :patsch

If he did take a loan, no idea why the **** he'd do so, he should give it back that's all. There's no basis on the lawsuit if Gamboa didn't sign anything LET ALONE RECEIVE A CONTRACT to sign, which he never did.

Why put a P4P fighter like Gamboa in a lightweight fight ???? guys like Broner and lot of others should make more sense.

If he took the advance then he is acknowledging that he was on board for the fight, having a change of heart should and will cost him.

Also if he insisted on the press conference to be in Miami only to skip out on it then "yes" he will get sued. I am thinking that this is a move to go to court ot try and settle and get out of Top Rank contract.

Taking legal advice from a guy who is temporarily out before his prison sentence starts in June is probably not the smartest way to go....

Why doesn't Gamboa pony up his own money for a venue, scheduling, fighter purse, promotion? That stuff costs money ya know? Rich promoters aren't as useless as some of you think. They need fighters as much as fighters need them. I'm not here to claim promoters are wholesome, courteous, stand up church members, but quit acting as if a guy has money it is fair game to screw him over. Do you really think a reputable organization like Top Rank would line up all these schedules purely on faith? Gamboa is not as innocent as some think, oh wait, Mayweather is backing him, I take it all back.

    Fan boys:patsch

And lets not forget that Top Rank is run by a freakin' lawyer. Do you really think that they wouldn't have some sort of legal documents verifying the ability to make the fight?

Odd, because Top Rank's website still has Rios VS Gamboa being promoted on the front page.

Okay smartass, why were press conferences set up then, when contracts weren't handed out? Rumors say Arum/Öner held it back to pressure Gamboa into contract extension. Yuri wanted none of that, and getting sued for it, sounds like good ol'shady Arum tactics. This $70k where Gamboa got stupid, why on Earth would he take out such a figure if negotiations are unfinished? But as far as standing on his own feet and making decisions on his own career, I'm supporting him 100% in that regard. And yeah, Floyd became filthy rich once he left Arum, so I don't know why Gamboa should feel lucky to have such a great promoter that was planning to cash out on him 2 divisions higher than his weight class. :patsch
