I've always held an incredibly high opinion of Roddick Bowe. Very skilled for a big man. It's a shame he didn't have the discipline to stay in shape after winning the title in '92.

Much was made of Bowe's girth. "I never read so much about nothing," said Eddie Futch, Bowe's trainer, a week before the bout. "He's young, and he is just getting bigger. His shoulders are wider. His thighs are more powerful. He just keeps getting stronger. He hit a sparring partner one day and knocked out two teeth and drove four more back under the guy's tongue. We had to send three of these guys home, and he wasn't trying to hurt any of them."

Holyfield is another ridiculously overrated American bum

Lets look at some of Holyfield's losses and close fights:

- dominated by Chris Byrd, who was destroyed twice by Wlad and dominated by one armed Vitali.

- dominated by Larry Donald, who was knocked down 4 times and KTFO by Vitali (was the only man to knockdown and KO Donald).

- dominated by Sultan Ibragimov, who was dominated by Wlad.

- drew and lost to John Ruiz, who was destroyed by Haye, who was dominated by Wlad.

- KTFO by James Toney, who was knocked down, badly hurt many times and dominated by Sam Peter, who was destroyed and ruined by both Klitschkos.

- drew and lost to Lennox Lewis, who was dominated and retired by Vitali.

- struggled and barely beat Ray Mercer, who was annihilated by Wlad (was the first man to knockdown and KO Mercer).

- struggled and barely beat Vaughn Bean, who was destroyed by Vitali (was the only man to KO Bean).

- beaten twice by overrated one hit wonder BUM Riddick Bowe, who was totally outclassed, exposed and destroyed twice by Andrew Golota, who was KTFO by 4 Klitschko victims (Brewster, Adamek, Austin, Lewis)

Holyfield was a decent fighter, but he's nowhere near the Klitschkos level.

Holyfield gets destroyed by either Klitschko.

What's he going to say before the fight? "Yes, my fighter hasn't trained as hard. He's not eating the right things. His weight doesn't look, and considering we're a week away from the fight, we may be in big trouble".

Fact is, Bowe was a lot heavier in the second fight. I mean...that's a fact?

He had entered training camp at a 266 lbs and weighed in at 246 lbs, eleven pounds heavier than in the first fight with Holyfield

At least Bowe never quit against Byrd and at least Bowe beat an ATG in Holyfield. Vitali beat Sam Peter. Big deal.
Bowe would kill both Klitschko bros because he was a good in and out fighter and he hit harder than arm puncher Vitali.
He had an excellent jab, a strong uppercut, and worked the body very well.
His main weakness was lack of a proper work ethic and laziness.
