I think Louis is a great fighter top 2 all time depending on who ya ask

However Muhammad Ali with Cus broke down how he would beat Louis using movement and foot work and not stand flat footed in front of him

Wladimir is not as fast as Ali or as tricky but his foot work matched with height makes him hard to hit

his reach and hard jab would punish Louis from far away, I dont think Louis would get in close enough

Vitali I think would jsut be too hard too hit adn have too much volume

 

This thread is full of bias and ignorance.

The huge glove size of today allows boxers to simply stand up with a turtleshell defense and allow their opponents to bang on them.

If you tried that tactic in Louis' era where glove sizes were much smaller, you would get anhilliated.

People on here are confusing the AMATEUR style today with the PRO style of the past.

I think most people on here don't really understand the balance and the technique associated with real boxing.

Joe Louis was probably the best pure puncher of all time, and while he was born with that gift, he was also taught to be a puncher via his footwork and balance that seems to be a lost art.

Joe Louis could beat either Klitschko. He has demonstrated his ability to beat bigger men in the past.

Dempsey would be Wlad's worst nightmare. He's as fast or faster than Haye, has a more proven chin, but instead of running from his opponents, he uses his defense aggressively and can get in position to counter his opposition.

Vitali is more durable, but look what Dempsey did to Williard who fights almost identically to Vitali.

Keep in mind that Dempsey was outweight by 65 lbs. He weight 180 while his opponent was 245.

It is true that no guys TODAY can beat the Klitschkos and that's because they don't know how to box, and the Klitschkos are very good fighters.

Styles still make fights though.

I don't see how anyone can make much of an assessment off that clip alone.

However, it does indicate that Dempsey used his head as a weapon to drive people back, which is an intelligent way to fight people on the inside, because you get them off balance, and force them back.

Peterson used that tactic against Khan, and Khan couldn't get away from him fast enough.

(Even though I think Khan still edged the fight)

On film, Dempsey looks phenomenal. Most of these fools on here never watched him fight, so they don't know ****.

They just jack off to their favorite boxer, whether it be Klitschko, Pac, or Mayweather, so they dismiss everyone else.
