Both guys dominated but Hopkins got the TKO.
Marquez went on to "school" Pacquiao at 144 and Trinidad was dominated by Wright and Jones (Cant really read too much into those since the fights were 3 and 7 years after Hopkins).
Hopkins had two inches on Trinidad plus a few pounds.
Maywaether had 1 inch in Marquez but he looked much much bigger.

Hopkins gets it but it is close.

Marquez is a much better boxer then Trinidad !

Floyd over Marquez is greater. Marquez just schooled the number 2 p4p fighter at WW. Marquez is an ATG. Trinidad was a cheater who got schooled everytime he fought someone who could box.

Mayweather-Marquez is more comparable to Monzon-Napoles or Hopkins-Wright - smaller great coming up 2 divisions. Trinidad was well established at 160. The point that Marquez beating Pacquaio trumps anything Trinidad did at 160 is also true. Floyd himself has said it was a tune up though. Trinidad at the time was very much overrated while Marquez underrated. Still a smaller counter puncher is the ideal opponent for a master speedy boxer

You think Oscar won yet you claim Tito won then tell me to look at the record?:lol::lol:

So let me guess, we should look at the record for Chavez vs Whitaker, Oscar vs Sturm, Lennox v Holyfield, Lara vs Williams.

You dug yourself a hole there trying to be intelligent. :patsch

    Both are good solid wins

however Mayweathers was very good Hopkins's was great

He took an undefeated Trinidad who i believe was the favorite nullified the power and took him out

Floyd put Juan down and carried him the 12 to get rounds in after the lay off, equally dominant no stoppage though

Trinidad was more acclimated to the weight but i think JMM is the better fighter

In MichiganWannaBeBlack's world Marquez beat Pacquiao in their last fight, Oscar beat Trinidad but to suggest that Hopkin's won atleast one of his fights with Taylor is something to laugh about :patsch

Let me explain it to you sweetheart, we all know you're not too bright

The opinion is that Oscar won, the concensus. (That's a big word I know, but it means the general thought.) The fact, the thing written down on paper, is that Trinidad was officially unbeaten going into the Hopkins fight.

I can make you a pretty little flip book if you're still struggling.

So you are saying that Hopkins vs Taylor, is comparable to the fiasco of Marquez vs Pacquiao 3 and Oscar vs Trinidad?

Please tell me you are comparing, 2 close good of gone either way wins, to two clear robberies, so I can dismiss you as a poster completely.

Sorry but Marquez put on the weight poorly and looked flabby and Mayweather still had to cheat on the scales.
Trinidad already had a fight on middleweight and looked amazing stopping a very durable opponant and was the big favorite over Hopkins.

NOONE gave Marquez ANY chance of doing anything and that never changed from the anouncement of the fight to the final bell.

Trinidad was by FAR a greater win and anybody voting otherwise needs professional help.

So we should go by corrupt judging and bad scoring as official, rather then what actually occurs in the ring. :patsch

No need to respond to you anymore. You obviously have no dignity or self respect.

These fights can't really be compared.
