Typical disingenuous response from you after being proven wrong on 1 of your exaggerations.

Floyd is 147-150 in the ring way past his best weight, Martinez is 171 in the ring. Difference = 20lbs

At 160 Hopkins was 170 in the ring, Tarver 185, difference = 15lbs BUT Hopkins bulked up lean mass to be 185 in the ring against Tarver (correct me on the exact weight if you wish - that's from memory), so the difference in weight is negligible. Hopkins carried that weight, Mayweather would not be able to carry 160lbs, Hopkins can carry 185lbs. Does that make any sense to you?

Lance you're every bit as biased as the fanboys you despise, correct me if I'm wrong but haven't you been posting since 03 in the Lennox-Vitali debates?

They were both good wins, but only to the casual fans they were supposed to be good fights. I don't really give too much credit to either Hopkins or Floyd for these wins in particular, but they are still good wins. Tito undefeated? Not truly so. It was the robbery vs Oscar that Hopkins used as a blueprint vs Tito not to mention Bhops just a naturally bigger fighter. Titos prime? I'd say 147-154 were his most effective years as he struggled abit more at 160 which was noticeable. The flab on Jmm was clearly noticeable you won't see that on pics, but you can during the fight. Probably most likely the worst shape Marquez was in his whole career, but it was a balsy, but foolish move by him no one to blame but himself. I do think he'd do much better vs Floyd in a rematch no fighter as great as he may be will be at his best form fighting overweight or in a weight not accustomed too.

You didn't prove ANYTHING numbnuts. :patsch
You cannot say what Floyd's in ring weight it when it's rarely given. And you call me ingenuous?

And I am aware of whom Hops employed to pack on mass. Don't you think Floyd would do something similar if he attempted the same feat? He's much smarter then you are, obviously.

Yes, been posting since 03. As have a few still lingering. So what?

Ahh come on Lance we have his weights all the way through pre-retirement, which topped out at 149. In his last fight he was what 151 or 152? It's safe to see he's pretty small, his uncle Jeff who's pretty up front says Floyd is 155 between fights. Let's see how he handles the move to 154 - where he looked seriously undersized against DLH it must be said. Hopkins we know weighed over 170lbs for several of his MW fights, even if he didn't add muscle mass he'd effectively be just the same as Floyd and Manny at 175 as they are at 147, ie fighting in his real weight class instead of trying to get size advantages by draining

Floyd adding mass to his frame will be much more detrimental than Hopkins because the mass he's already added has slowed him down. Hopkins could afford to add more mass to his frame than Floyd because he'd fought his career at 160

Having said all that as a fan I'd love to watch Mayweather-Martinez. Which fight would you prefer Floyd to take Martinez or Pacquaio?

No criticism about the '03 posting, just remember yourself Widdow, Farmy, Radar on insanely long threads, before I signed up myself, you're the key survivor my thread

His weights pre-retirement were HOW many years ago though? Is that being genous to his current position? :D

It's all speculation on adding mass. There's the right way, and wrong way. Few thought Hopkins would be the fighter he is at ltHW that he was at MW. So IF Floyd did the same, again, all we can do is speculate. Pointless to say who's right or wrong. What I was on about was Hopkins moving up two classes to face the reigning LtHW champ. And how so many think it's ridiculous for Floyd to (I wonder how many of those said that about JMM moving from LW to WW to face one of the best fighters, not just a champ...but another thread though...). Some guys have the confidence in their ability. With Floyd, he has the reasons not to. We see guys go out of their way to take on challenges that make them look crazy to make. But Floyd doesn't have to, because his health and money are the most important thing. That's his right, but it effects any claoms of greatness.

Whom would I prefer? Honestly, I'm fine with either Pac or Martinez as opponents. Sadly, after Floyd beats Cotto, he'll face Canelo most likley. And he'll make a TON of money for a fight vs. someone with zero big wins.

As for the '03 comment, my bad. Thought you were going to bust my balls over it or something. Yeah...the old days. :D

I want Floyd gone after 3 more fights. (Including Cotto) I want him to retire undefeated and untroubled(let me be clear, my preference would be Cotto, Pac, Martinez). I think we've seen a special fighter since the start and to see him go out as dominant over all challenges would mark him as the best fighter of my lifetime. If he does lose I'll feel cheapened if that makes sense.

Silly question. Hopkin's win is one of the best of this era.

He knocked out 2 guys at middle, a average belt holder and a fat Mayorga. Then he got schooled by Hopkins and Wright.

Marquez potentially destroyed Pacquiaos entire camp.
