Why are people under the impression that Sergio can't sell tickets?

He has the looks, natural talent and a good caring personality outside the ring to draw crowds in. Is it because he can't speak english as well as others or is because his management are ****?

It's a thing to look at who (apart from Floyd and Manny) can actually sell seats in America? I mean who's 3rd best out of the new crop of fighters? Is it someone like a Khan whose loyal fanbase comes to each of his fights or is it someone like JCC Jr. who is just living on his fathers name and hence prob gets a couple hundered seats occupied more than others?

He doesn't really have a country that supports him like Pac, Chavez, Cotto, Hatton, or Koki Kameda... and isn't a bad guy like Mayweather. Plus, people fear fighting him,

He might as well be another Mexican fighter to most casuals. The only problem is, he doesn't have the built in fan-base of Mexicans he would if he was actually from that country.

    Argentina sux...:D

Could he though if he had a decent promotion behind him? I think he could, but I'd say everyone agress his promotion currently is shithouse.

Williams II, Dzinziruk, and Barker fight all had empty seats near ringside. That's the first ****ing sign, usually.

People believe that he can't sell because his fight doesnt come with free buffet, free room, and free limo ride from the airport. People will strat believing that he sells once his fight start including special offer like free room, free buffet, and free limo ride.

Nobody doubts his potential in the case that fans were more familiar with him, but the fact is he's not, and that's why the fact is he doesn't sell tickets. No fan-base, a recent lack of consistently notable competition, and far too quiet of a promotion.

you have to have a hardcore fan base which is usually country or racially motivated. One of the reasons Mayweather wanted to leave Arum is because Arum would never market him to blacks. Who the hell do you market Sergio to in America?

Fair point, mate. I guess what would have to happen is for Sergio to get a fight with a big name, beat them, look good doing it, and in the process get exposure to fight fans to help build / steal a fan base?

With him fighting at MW, I doubt that's going to happen, unless JCC Jr gets in the ring with him.

Good promotion is the most important thing. Speaking english would help but good promotion can overcome that problem. With good promotion even the sub normal can make tons of money. Eric esch was not that good, but he had great promtion.
