The Floyd/Pac fight is a fantasy fight, it will never happen.

Pac needs to leave Arum however for it to have even a 1% chance of happening.

Cotto left Arum, fight was made instantly. Arum just simply needs to remove himself from the picture. End of story.

Pac/Arum spews as much bull**** as Mayweather/Team Money. That's a fact.

Pac/Arum- Economic Problems/Cut Problems/Floyd going to jail
Floyd- Financial problems, drug testing, Bob Arum is a scumbag etc etc.

There's an endless stream of negligence and bull**** out of these two camps, if you don't realize it up to this point, you're an idiot. It's been 3 years and we haven't gotten as far as to any SOLID negotiations.

And since this fight will never happen, I'll be very happy with Martinez/Floyd (160 or 154) [Roger has said Floyd would move to 160 if the price was right] or Pac/Cotto 2 @ 154 ofc.

The fights not happening, no fighter wants it enough... if even one of these pricks wanted this then it would have happened years ago, the fact is they will always get dumb as **** fans that are happy to be pissed on that will buy their `2nd prize` fights... why would they risk it vs each other - especially when those same dumb as **** fans will continue to blame the other side despite it being obvious to any ****** that both are a ****in disgrace.

yeah, along with him getting the lionshare if not all of sponsorships and revenue that come with that deal, and without prior consultation with the other party as well. Very good roadblock actually. I'll classify it under 'some other bull****' though.

 

I disagree with MVC on this, I think the fight will happen indefinitely, and that they are just letting it build and build and build to make sure it will be as big as they can imagine and that they make as much money as possible after all the anticipation that has been built up for it.

If there is to be another roadblock pending an agreement from the Pacquiao camp, I'd imagine it would be weight. I could see Mayweather, if he is trying to stop it from happening, trying to make it happen at 154 to give himself more of an advantage. This whole thing from Mayweather has been designed for him to have every advantage he can possibly think of for himself because he is indeed scared of losing, and that's understandable too. He needs to THINK he has every advantage to agree to the fight, and this would likely be the next one in line.

I personally think that Pacquiao should never fight above 140-145, and that-that is where Mayweather should fight Pacquiao. I think that would make it the most competitive fight because it would disallow Mayweather to come in at 160+ after hydration with Pacquiao probably not getting above 150. Remember folks, the weight divisions are broken up the way they are because size DOES matter at this stage of the game. I don't want anyone to have a size/weight advantage. I want this fight to be as even as possible when the two men step in the ring so that there are no excuses for either man. I think that both would be faster at 140-145, be able to go the distance better, and be in all around better condition for the fight if neither is carrying any extra weight.

If pacs camp agreed to the testing AND gave up untold millions to get the fight signed they'd better not budge off of 147.

 

As if "the testing" is such a huge concession. Floyd's volunteering himself for the same exact testing and three other guys have agreed to it no problem because it doesn't create any type of disadvantage for either guy... Unless of course he's dirty.

 

It depends on what the future holds for mayweather. He has fights that are available at 154, and if he chooses to start campaigning there, I would not call it a duck. That being said if he and Pac are going to do the damn thing 150 wouldn't be a bad idea.

 

Let's certainly hope so, but if they fight it will be when Manny is at the end of his boxing career with Arum having no more further use for him other than making that last paycheck. Pacquiao has said already that he may retire after the Bradley match so I'm just not seeing this fight happening.

Yes we know how retirement works, Floyd has retired on 2 separate occasions and has come back twice.

But even if it happens, the mystique of it all will have vanished..... It will be when Floyd is a 37-38 year old man while Manny is 35. It will definitely not deliver.

Canelo has said that Floyd will fight him after the Cotto fight and if Floyd is going to fight Canelo/Martinez, I just don't see any room for Pacquiao in his schedule until late 2013, early 2014 or even mid 2014's since Floyd loves taking his long ass breaks.
