Is this the main reason we dislike the Klitschkos?

Going through some old fights, I came across Evander Holyfield V George Foreman. It almost felt wrong watching 2 heavyweights going against one another in such a way -

Which brings me to the questions - When was the last time we've had such an exciting heavyweight fight? Are the klitschkos to blame for this?

when you put in the ring an old, bald and fat man with a blown up cruiser weight, both evenly matched and both willing to exchange, you get a great fight.

You just don't have any HW out there who could really give the Klits a run for their money.

Haye maybe could...but he chose to run not to fight.

^Around the time when Wladimir lost to Sanders. Ironic? indeed, however, if we take into consideration the time of the klitschko dominance era, that fight wouldn't fit into that equation.

It would be great to see anyone who could force the klits into that kind of fight.

Liakhovich-Brewster in 2006 was a great fight. Best HW fight of the 21st century IMO.

Brewster was a real tough, gutsy fighter. He suffered a detached retina in this bout.

Probably my favorite heavyweight in recent years as he made for entertaining fights.

Holyfield wasnt a "BLOWN UP CRUISERWEIGHT"

Mormeck, Huck, Banks, are blown up cruiserweights

I dont dislike the Klitschkos, they can only beat whats in front of them.
I wouldnt say they are any great legends or anything.
They are good boxers in a weak era, which isnt their fault.

Greats like Tyson would dispose of Wlad very easily.

Just like a fat Lewis beat Vitali.

"blown up cruiserweight " is a negative connotation used when describing someone that has NO BUSINESS fighting at heavyweight.

    1) they are only in the division because they are lazy
    2) think there is more money at heavyweight as a journeyman than a champion at cruiserweight.

notice i didnt call Haye a blown up cruiserweight...hes a fraud as a heavyweight, but he is a legit big strong powerful heavyweight

    I agree.

This blown up CW stuff is pedalled far too often simply because some fighters are either fleshy or not weighing 17 + stone. Do people believe that Holyfield or Moorer could comfortably make CW without killing themselves to do so? Roy Jones is someone who never really qualified as a heavyweight.

Because they both had overrated punch power^.

So you want the old days back when an overweight 40+ year old ex-champ who wasnt even the best of his own era could walk in off the street and give the socalled "World" champion (socalled because 60% of the world's best fighters couldnt compete in the pros) the fight of his life?

You need to just start watching club fights from now on.:good

i grew up on tyson and holyfield (not youtube versions) so watching their seek and destroy style to now watching the klitschkos style is like comparing prime rib to sirloin. Both are steaks, different prices, taste, flavor, but both can be appreciated.
I respect the klits now because they are smart, always in shape, professionals in every sense of the word. Do I get excited for most of their fights? No. But when the other guy has a legitimate shot to win (Haye and Chisora) they were worth having people over and turning on the grill
