Typical idiot ******* response, thinking that facial damage is an indicator of who won or loss. But since you want to go that route ok..... Pac-Clottey This content is protected ^^^^This is the winner Clottey didn't have a scratch on him.
They are boxers and not judges.. I don't say that they don't know how to score a fight, but I'm sure that when they are watching they don't have some scoring sheet to write their scores on and they just rely to their memory.. I'm sure they all have their minds fixed with Manny destroying JMM by a brutal KO but that did not happened.. It may affect the way they would have perceived things if it was only their first fight.. When an underdog landed some good shots, the tendency is to score it big because its unexpected.. And the heavy favorite doing a counter punching style not his usual style, a style that has not been seen as Manny Pacquioa but a Juan Manuel Marquez style they would score it small.. So after the fight they try to recall how the fight happened they ended up with Marquez doing a very good job of doing his game plan and schooling Manny for most of the rounds.. :bart Most of Marquez' punches landed only on Pac's Gloves or arms.. If not for the headbutt, he would not make a mark on Pac's face.. Pac was the aggressor and when JMM tries to engage, he's eating Pac's right hook.. JMM was ahead for the first 8 rounds Pac came back and win the later rounds enough to steal the fight.. :bart Pac's aggressiveness is the reason why some judges gave the close rounds to him.. Plus he's the champion, a challenger should show he want it more.. The judges did not see it, fight fans did not see it either.. :bart
It did make me happy to see JMM get such support from such a wide variety of respected boxers. Sugar Ray Leonard's comment read particularly special.
It was a close fight and Marquez did very well, but even if all those people think he should have won, it doesn't make it so.
You're clearly a biased fan. Pacquiao's head was rocked several times, because Marquez was aiming for his chin, and often landed there (hence the bloody lip); knocking your opponent off balance and out of position is the more effective punch than grazing ones that scratch up the surface of your skin. Pacquiao himself admitted Marquez hurt him. You can make excuses all you want, but you're certainly not more qualified to judge a fight than those who have been in the sport for so long, and it's laughable to consider judges the epitome of objectivity when scoring fights in the sport of boxing. And cut that **** out about the challenger needing to want it more. The challenger does not need to win the rounds "clearer", that's a myth; what the statement of "taking" the championship means, is that a draw will not result in the title changing hands at all, not that the belt-holder gets the edge within rounds. But it's a strong ass argument, isn't it...how many people familiar with the sport have to cry robbery before people accept that it was one?
I'm guessing these Tweets came out immediately after the announcement when people were riding high on emotion (latest example being Jeremy Lin). The fact of the matter is, Marquez was expected to be brutally knocked out Ricky Hatton style. Not only did that not happen, but Marquez gave a full account of himself. The fight was a close win for Pac. :deal Like I and II, I don't mind if people saw a victory for Marquez, but to call such a close fight a robbery is just plain dumb. The only legitimate robbery here was I, when a judge ****ed up the math for the 3 KDs.
Did u see salido compared to juanma.... Plus didnt arum say pac couldnt fight in may kuz of a cut.... May was along tike from novemner so marquez musta did some real damage!
Well even Pac didn't really believe he won and neither did Roach. I did have to laugh at Morales' comments about JMM being the 2nd Mexican to beat the **** out of Pac. Pretty funny.
Marquez came forward much more effectively than Manny in spots. Let's not pretend he was moving backwards all night. And even if he was, you can be more effective moving backwards and throwing punches, which is aggression. Assuming judges are objective is preposterous, especially when one had it for Manny 116-112. A majority of fans, a vast majority of ATG professional boxers...nothing is left to be said.
