Hello everyone! I would like to introduce you something new to the scene of boxing. FINLAND. Really, who's been talking about Finland here? I guess no one. So i'm gonna tell you something about Finnish boxing/boxers. Finland's development as a boxing country has been pretty nice in recent years. We have many solid prospects and we were happy to host big event like Abraham-Froch and Povetkin-Boswell :good Our promotional team called P3 boxing has done amazing job and is able to make these cool things happen which were nothing but a dream 5 years ago. Finland is not known about many good fighters. But nowdays, we have guys like Robert Helenius and someone might remember hardpunching middleweight Amin Asikainen who shocked Sebastian Sylvester in 2006 and had some other respectful wars. That knockout victory over Sylvester was a major boost for Finnish boxing.

If you have time and interest please check these prospects out and tell your opinions. I don't say that these guys are ''champs in the making'' but there might be some potential guys that can go pretty far if you are asking me.

    Edis Tatli, 24 years old, 16-0 3KO's

Slick, fast and skillful fighter who might have pretty nice future ahead. He lacks power but still he is entertaining to watch and he has some showman blood when he steps to the ring. EBU-ranked fighter, many believes that Edis is the best prospect of our country.

    Ville Piispanen, 28 years old, 16-2 6 KO's

Former EU-Champ and oh boy, what a beatiful style to watch. He is slick, fast and has some nice tricks in his arsenal. Our own IntentionalButt was kinda impressed about Piispanen once so he can't be bad fighter I guess :good

    btw, pretty nice knockout:

    Jussi Koivula 28 years old, 11-0 3KO's

Had a good amateur career and has gone through bad injuries and is finally ready to give his all for his dream to go as far as he can in boxing. Very skillful, seems to be pretty relaxed in the ring and is getting better and better in each fight.

    Juho Haapoja 31 years old, 17-2 10KO's

Former heavyweight champion of Finland who decided to give all what he got to boxing and dropped his weight to cruiserweight. He is a current EU-champ and has some decent name in his resume. He is the most entertaining fighter in Finland. He can bang, he cang take punch and he can make it fun to watch for the fans. Amazing fighting spirit, Great fighter!

    Niko Jokinen 24 years old, 16-0 6KO's

Solid technique and pretty good all around boxer. Smart in the ring when he wants to be and can bang pretty well too.. But sometimes he takes too much shots to his own head and it feels like there is something wrong with his ability to develop. He has some potential for sure but something is not working right now. But still, he's not bad prospect.

    Jaakko Myllyla, 27 years old, 11-0 4KO's

Decent technique and nice fighting spirit. Finally his health is 100% and he is ready to test his limits. He can bang pretty well and his defence is good. Throws good combinations from different angles. Interesting fighter who has all the tools to make a good career.

    Jarkko Putkonen 27 years old, 4-0 2KO's

Started his procareer last year and he has been very impressive so far. He packs some nice power in his punches and moves his upperbody pretty well. Solid prospect and I'm more than interested to see how far he can go.

bring em on, boxing might get more female fans as they do love the blonde blue eyed scandi men looks.

Although best get some tans before you step in front of the girls, for maximum effect.#

And I'll def add my vote for more scandi women!

Unforgetable moment for the finnish boxing, this fight kinda changed everything:
I really think that was stupid move by Sauerland to fight against Asikainen. Asikainen wasn't even mandatory and in his previous fight Asikainen almost killed Tendil (one of the craziest knockouts I've ever seen, I thought for a moment that he leaves the ring in the strecher but luckily Tendil finally got up) and Sylvester had all kind of troubles with Tendil one year before Asikainen. Any other fight doesn't give me same feeling like this:

Asikainen in his prime was beast but his downhill slide started fast after highly controversial rematch with Sylvester

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E13ELH3Rijk[/ame]

After losing to Sylvester in rematch Asikainen bounced back pretty well. He stopped iron chinned Yori Boy Campas who still had something left in the tank at the moment. Only one year before Asikainen-Campas fight many felt that Campas beat John Duddy but was robbed and after getting tko'd by Asikainen Campas fought in his next fight against Matthew Macklin and once again many people thought Campas won the fight. This is pretty good and underrated victory for Amin Asikainen cause Campas still was game and dangerous fighter as these Macklin and Duddy fights showed.
