It means, that although the punch probably wasn't strong enough to get the knockdown normally, it was "authentic" (ie it counts and wasn't just a slip) because a punch landed when a boxer out of position.

He would have to be a fool not to in all honesty...

Fair play to Matty, showed how tough he is, and maybe not having the best skills he makes up for it with everything else.

Wasn't a hurtful knockdown really. Didn't seem to be a solid punch, just typical Hatton fighting square on.

Macklin is probably damaged goods at this point. He took a real shellacking in those last few rounds versus Sturm and gave alot overall.

Can see him just getting slashed to bits with the left and we all know he'll leave himself too open by the halfway point to not get hit by it.

    Cheers Gaz :good.

It doesn't get used much nowadays, i remember sparring my mate's cousin round his house. I remember throwing bombs clipping him and shouting 'count that, that's a authentic knockdown' :rofl.

Got to agree to, Kell beat him better and at Hatton's natural weight.

Yeah, wide UD for Martinez I reckon. A bit torn on this one, I really want Macklin to win (even if he does pretend he's Irish:tong) but on the other hand it's Maravilla-the definition of G.

TKO7 win, apparently the referee (Mercante Jr) was also knocked down.

I'd like Mack to win just because he's the underdog tbh.
