Wasn't really a punch. Well there was, but Martinez went down because their legs were tangled when a punch happened to land, and his glove touched the ground since he was off balance. Don't think the punch hurt him, though. Martinez took the initiative in round 9. So far a great fight from Macklin, performing way above expectations. Martinez stepped on the gas, starting last round, though. See what happens next.

    Yes he does.

Good fight by Macklin, though. Went out on his guard, and I think performed above expectations.

I say this as sober as a judge, I haven't taken a sup all day because I was working. I might be irrational, and bitter, and a very sore loser, but I hope Martinez gets his head smashed to ****in bits some time soon! ***** - for one reason - because he beat Macklin!

Well done Macklin, he performed fought a great fight and gave Sergio problems. Martinez is class though, both in and out of the ring, so you have got to hand it to him. No need to be bitter Bk:lol:

Macklin wasn't only competitive, he was even, at least, on the cards going into the 11th. Sergio's conditioning won the fight for him; macklin faded after round 7 and never really got his second wind. Does anyone know if had a strength/conditioning coach for this fight? You'd think he would have after sturm.

He left it all in the ring, though, and has nothing to be ashamed of. Hope he gets another turn in the spotlight as he is pure class.

Spot on. If it was someone like Broner or Mayweather, or somebody taunting his man, then I could understand some resentment but Martinez was a classy guy before, during and after. A real quality operator and Macklin should be proud of the argument he gave him throughout.

Ironic that the knockdown was the worst thing that could've happened to Macklin cause Martinez turned it up another gear after that.
