I thought Sergio fought a very smart fight.

He only missed the KO by one round. He systematically broke his opponet down and stopped him. It went just as planned. That is a sign of a very great fighter. He was patient and took care of business. Very smart fight.

I knew it was only a matter of time as soon as the first round. I thought Sergio was being a bit too patient in the fifth and sixth but he destroyed him by round 10.

It played out just as he and his corner had planned. Well planned and exicuted fight plan.

I don't think it went all according to plan since Macklin didn't make it the firefight they anticipated. He still however made the necessary adjustments to get the win.

agreed, Sergio showed ability to adapt when Macklin took a defensive posture. Very good performance- A minus.

Macklin made Martinez commit like Barker did giving him advantage. Sergio started feinting to the body and it opened Mack up. Once Macklin slowed down a bit it was over.

Solid performance for sure. Credit to Macklin as well, who fought really well and who you could tell was well prepared.

Closer than expected early rounds, but anyone with brains had him ahead by a couple of pts before the KDs, the only thing the hater that grab onto is getting knocked down himself. Which of course was BS.

i just dont get it why sergio did not take those opportunities to knock macklin out in the early round. he had macklin hit with a jab but he didnt follow it up with a left.

He started too passive. His combination punching was the key and he kinda ignored it.

Yet most had him beating sturm, in reality sergio would have all the belts exept the ibf's.
