Matthew Hatton DID fight a defensive fight against Alvarez. Its hard to look good if the other fighter isnt willing to open up and take risks as much as they'd normally would...
Canelo would've knocked Hatton out had he had the ability to punch him more. Convincing argument guys. Tell me more about Canelo's supreme talent.
He didn't run from Canelo you butt hurt Mexicans, Gomez didn't run either. Other countries teach their fighters this thing called 'footwork' and Gomez had lived in the U.S.A long enough to pick some up :hey
Canelo has had more fights & is more expieranced than Brook The dude is only 21 which I must always keep reminding myself before I take a digg at him... Sure Canelo isn't the greatest boxer boxer... but he is good. Mosley Canelo coming up. Which is more of a test to show how good Canelo is rather than Matthew Hatton... Canelo & Brook need to fight top level guys who arn't old or not that good... Brook more so than Canelo because he is 25... This rest of this year is critical for Brook... Canelo still has 2 years before he really needs to fight a top top guy.
Excuse my language, Running to me means fighting a defensive fight where you are just trying to survive instead of trying to come out victorious, now I wouldn't classify Mayweather running in his fights nor Marquez PACQUIAO 3... I would consider Hatton Running in his fight with canelo, as in his defensive style that night was more about surviving then it was about countering or trying to win the night.. Hatton fought well with Kell and got outclassed... Good showing for Kell don't understand the hate for Canelo in which the OP is creating...
And SJS19, the logical, straight, tactical and technical Boxing genius :bart Apologies :good Hatton did fight conservatively against Canelo, he had too; the weight difference combined with the speed and power disparity meant that he had too. Hatton did the right thing, frustrate the youngster by keeping range, forcing him to lead and show his inexperiance by making mistakes, Hatton did then land a few nice punches. Brooks performance was superior to Alvarez's all things considered, but Matthew Hatton is not an indication of how good either guy is, I agree :thumbsup
Hatton landed FAR more on Canelo than he did on Brook, and looked a lot more comfortable in the ring with him despite being thousands of miles away from home in the lions den. Archie couldn't even hurt Hatton weighing in as a SMW on fight night :rofl Brook would embarrass Canelo before smashing his well protected glass chin.
