I don't really follow any MMA, but I have seen quite a bit of it at friends house and I have been entertained watching it before. I don't really know why but the ground fighting aspect has just really never done much for me, i prefer strictly standing up fighting. I like kick boxing more than MMA because they have more than just punches, but it's all stand up fighting. That being said though I respect mma and it's fighters. Luckily it seems like the whole boxing fans saying MMA sucks and mma fans saying boxing sucks has died down a good deal. That was never necessary in the first place.
Boxing is my primary passion in life. I prefer the current MMA scene to the current boxing scene, though, and not by a little. Classical boxing will always reign supreme in my eyes.
I´m a big fan of Classic Boxing as well, like EB.....but I prefer even the current boxing to the current MMA scene.....depends of the fight, of course...but I just love striking.....and boxing is the most beautiful combat sport to me.... I think I prefer Muay Thai or KickBoxing to MMA actually...especially recently......but even so I watch MMA a lot, post here every time on MMA, etc...... Those are my sports basically ! I like Football, but no comparison with these combat sports....
I love both but unless boxing begins putting on consistently good fights (ie, the best against the best) I'm on the MMA side.
MMA. Boxing has **** the bed in recent years/decades. Baby sitting spoilt brat millionaires who are ridiculously protective of their overly padded records and alphabet soup titles. The sport as a whole has become a less than a joke. MMA is not without it's own problems, but for now the way it's run as a sport and a business is miles ahead of boxing it its current state.
I agree 100%. MMA has been doing everything right the last couple of years, Boxing has been doing everything wrong and has been too stubborn to change its ways.
but its an MMA forum on a boxing website. i would be more shocked if MMA was leading. recently i have been watching considerable amounts of MMA and would consider myself an avid fan but there's nothing like a great boxing match.
Boxing used to be my favorite sport in the world. Now it is MMA, then K-1 at its best, then boxing. Doesn't mean I hate boxing or anything. Just that matches at their best go in this order for me. It isn't even about the best fighting the best. Some of the better MMA fights are between nobodies or journeymen. The ground game is awesome once you get an understanding of what is going on. Yes the stalling that has started to really take over on the ground has gotten out of hand. Still, ground exchanges like Sakuraba vs Newton are as good as any standup exchange to me.
