I may hate Floyd, but if he beat SM, at any weight, that's a huge accomplishment.

Floyd would never fight Sergio, even if Sergio fights for free.

I think if Mayweather makes him an offer of 5-8 million he would accept and Mayweather could have the rest which would be huge as they could sell this fight bigtime (despite Martinez low fan base).

Mayweather is fast running out of credibel opponents - he pretty much has Pacquaio, Martinez, Alvarez and at a push they could sell Kirkland and Bradley if he does reasonably well against Pacquaio.

Mayweather will have to make concessions soon otherwise he might as well retire for good.

Martinez ducking floyd, why won't he bring his ass down to 154 instead of fighting euro bums.

WTF? Everyone with the exception of Pacquiao would probably jump at the type of payday Floyd brings to the table and conceed whatever he wants in order to get it. He has just as many if not more viable options than Pacquiao, especially now that he's fighting at 154.

I never said they wouldn't, I just said that if he starts playing hardball with Martinez as well as Pacquaio he'll find himself with no credible opponents soon. offering Martinez 5-8 million would seal the deal imo and mayweather would make 40-50million so you cant say that its not a fair deal.

If he neglects to do this (putting aside any Pacquaio talk) after Alvarez who else is their out there for him to fight:

Kirkland (unless he loses to Mollina which there is a good chance he does)
Bradley (if he puts a decent show on against Pacquaio)
Khan ?(if he gets past Peterson in style)

154 - Bundrage, Trout, Matiroysan, Angulo - no one cares for these and they would make him less money than he would get giving Martinez 5-8 million.

147 - Berto, Alexander, Jones, Senchenko, Aydin, Guerrero - as above

who else is there out there

It's funny we never hear about him being such a pain in the ass in negotiations outside of the whole Pacquiao ordeal. ****, the Cotto fight was signed in a matter of a few days after Cotto said he didn't want to drain himself for Pacquiao again and they were unable to come to terms. :think

Why make this a Pacquaio debate, I'm bored lifelessly of that crap that I no longer care to even read up on anything that is said anymore.

The thread is about a so called Martinez negotiations, all I am stating is that Mayweather can probably make him an offer less than 80-20 that he would be happy to take and it would probably make more money for Floyd than any other fight barring Pacquaio, Alvarez and possibly Khan.

If they can't negotiate this fight also (which I'm not saying the can't) then he may as well retire pretty soon as there is no one else who will do anything for his legacy and the rest of the fights wouldn't be of any great interest to the general public anyway.

if he's not fighting for his legacy or for the biggest paydays then what is he fighting for?
