Who would win? Amir Khan vs Kell Brook@147lbs

Could be a massive British fight to close out 2012. Who you got?

 

Don't know. Depends how Khan carries the weight.

Win or lose against Peterson, this fight will definitely happen at the end of this year, or early 2013. I

 

Still unsure, but based on what I've seen up till now, Khan for me. Brook is not the type of fighter that will maul Khan and try to get on the inside. From what I see, Brook does not seem to have an inside game and neither does Amir, obviously. Brook would look to be the counter puncher, most likely. Khan is quite a big man in comparison to the recent fighters Brook has fought, despite Amir being a weight division below. Up till now, we haven't seen Amir struggle too much from the outside. He gave Peterson all the trouble he could handle till he changed his tactics to just banging in Khan.

The question here is, can Brook deal with Khan's overall workrate and speed? We're yet to see how he deals with a fast kid like Amir.

For Khan, the question is, can he deal with Brooks style and power to the point where he can land without getting countered?

My current evaluation in this is that I don't see Brook being able to deal with Amir's workrate. At long range, I see Amir having more success as he uses his length more. Brook may have a couple decent wins but let's not get it twisted, Hatton and N'dou aren't Khan. He may have dismantled them better than Alvarez, but as we all know, styles make fights and that does not necessarily mean he's better than him, and in my personal opinion, Alvarez is the most overrated fighter of the past year.

think khan would win most of the rounds but tight rounds cz kell has a decent jab too. i wanna see kell in trouble see how he would cope. but take khans jab away he has nothin as peterson clearly showed. kell late stoppage . stil dont think we've seen best of him. so theres no blueprint for kell but khan has , take away jab ride the storm and hes anybodys late in a fight. peterson clearly won and if he sticks to gameplan he' win by late comeback or late stoppage .

 

at the moment id favour khan more big fight experience could be vital here. if brook has say 3 more fights at world level this could be a different fight altogether

 

kell would punish khan best believe that, brook has ko power in both hands.

 

I think it says a lot about Khan when people believe a guy who hasn't fought for a world title can beat him.

I think Brook's got a bit to add to game, I'd like to see him in with a real threat next time out. He does have the tools to beat Khan no doubting that he just needs to fight consistently for 12 rounds. He tends to fall asleep and let fights peter out a bit to much for my liking. In saying that Khan's not exactly mr consistency. I think it would be a close fight but Brook would need to pressure Khan force him onto backfoot and break him down from there.

8 months of go this fight wouldn't of been imaginable, how quick things change in this sport..

 

Brook will win. He is better at mid-range than Khan, and neither man will win it on the outside.

Khan has a handspeed edge but that is it.

 

He has the worst skillset of any 'champion' I have seen. I mean a genuine no.1 or no.2 guy rather than just a belt holder, of which there have been many worse than Amir.

Cringeworthy stuff sometimes.

 

Totally agree Flea, it's amazing to think people give him a chance against the elite in the sport. Khan also lacks head movement now this was a major reason why i saw Brook battering Hatton with potshots. He's got very good accuracy and hurtful punches. Khan has a wide seam between his gloves which Kell would exploit.

 

If only beating a fighter was as simple as your post.

Being able to execute a plan is a whole different story and Amir Khan is no walking body. People are talking about Kell exploiting Khan's flaws but is Amir not going to exploit Brooks mistakes? or is Brook just so good that he has nothing that Amir can take advantage of?

 

No it doesn't. The man himself has won two world titles, beaten world class opposition (current and former world champions) and has only just narrowly lost to another world class opponent.

Yet that's disregarded just because people think a talented and skilled fighter in a higher division could beat him? :huh

Sure, Khan has his flaws, but to all of a sudden think he's a nobody now that Brook has beaten a Matthew Hatton, is ridiculous. ESB's post-fight reactions can be quite amusing.

 

Yes it does, simply people don't rate the guys skillset and believe he can be beaten by a guy who is still not at world class level....

It's not even the silly fans or Brook Brigade there's solid/good posters believing Khan can be beaten by this lad. I believe Brook can present him a fair amount of trouble. Maybe a tad early still needs a fight or two but if the fight was made i wouldn't write him off.

As i said and i stick by it, says it all really..dunno where the nobody bit comes into it don't think i've said that..

 

not a fan of either boxers both overrated. hopefully we will see 1 of those rare double ko's happen,if i had to put my last $10 on it i would pick brook by ko
