Good luck with that. I wish Pavlik the best. He's from my neck of the woods and I flew to Las Vegas to see him fight, but I'm not going to believe some fantasy just because I want him to succeed. The guy has been sober for maybe 3 months, if at all. I would be happy to be proved wrong.

When did it happen the first time???

The Kelly Pavlik that beat Taylor et al would have been more than competitive with Martinez.

White power?? Hmmm.... and what do we call all the transparent jock carrying of Mexican fighters by Mexican posters on here??

Oh, right-- that's cultural pride. My bad. :-(

all these white americans put all their eggs in the Pavlik basket. I watched the same fight last night and it is clear that Macklin was competitive because his footowork, combos, and willingness to engage Martinez (pavlik can not do any of these things). Pavlik's style is tailor made for Martinez. Pavlik vs Chavez Jr would be more entertaining but highly insignificant.

Darren Barker and Matt Macklin would give Pavlik plenty to think about at this stage.
I don't hate Pavlik but where is the evidence that he's any better than he's been for years?
Oh silly me.I forgot he's looking good in the gym:patsch
    World domination is inevitable...

I was down @ southside gym around week three of Kelly's training for Martinez. Talked to Jack briefly as usual, he is always busy. About a thrity min later, Jack walks by on his phone, saying to someone, hope Kelly makes it and the look in his eyes said it all. I was thinking, maybe he slep in because he trains at different venues 3 times a day. Lot of things I kept to myself, like when Kelly had the staff infection, he was very close to death with the infection, possibly from drinking. I don't know. I also talkrd to Jack the day b-4 he blew up in the interview with the Pavlik mess. He told me, I wish Kelly the best and we talked about other boxers.
In a nut shell, Kelly Pavlik is human, is fighting the biggest fight of his life, day by day and has bitten down hard and trying to re dedicate himself to boxing. I have seen some small changes with the brief amount of sparring vid I have watched. I wish him the best and hope he comes back like a bad storm and shut some of the haters up. At the end of the day, God, Family and peace in your heart..

I am not putting my eggs in any basket. I am just tired of the bull**** on here. If a white dude roots for a white dude, he's ****ing racist or a white power adherent. If, however, a Mexican-American pulls for a Mexican over an American fighter, well what the hell--- it's cultural pride.

As for your analysis, the notion that Pavlik is not "willing to engage" is beyond ridiculous. Kindly see the Miranda fight.

A prime Pavlik would stop Chavez. Period.

No he did not! you dont know what he said. That is just what you would like to imagine Pavlik saying and you have a very vivid imagination but you did not hear anything.

I have listened to this myself and it maybe perhaps sounded like Pavlik said I need a drink. And Jack Loew did not want to give him a drink of water as it can have a negative effect on the stomach. But it could have been anything that Pavlik said because he can not be clearly heard unless you are hearing things like yourself. And who really cares if for a fraction of a second Pavlik considerd quiting.
